Gorilla in the Cabin
Gorilla Rep used puppets at CP Spirit Rock

Given Crothers/Tutty is a spirit, I would go to Spirit Rock.

Gorilla Rep performed playwright Laura Lynn MacDonald's new adaptation/translation of Ibsen's wild fairy tale Peer Gynt—complete with masks and puppets—on and around Central Park's Spirit Rock.

That prompts a couple questions: Who were the puppeteers?

Where is Spirit Rock?

Is the fairy tale Peer Gynt clued?

Could someone go there and do photo reckon?

Ibsen wrote Peer Gynt in deliberate disregard of the limitations that the conventional stagecraft of the 19th century imposed on drama. Its 40 scenes move uninhibitedly in time and space and between consciousness and the unconscious, blending folkloric fantasy and unsentimental realism.

Raymond Williams compares Peer Gynt with August Strindberg's early drama Lucky Peter's Journey (1882) and argues that both evidence a new kind of dramatic action that was beyond the capacities of the theatre of the day; both created "a sequence of images in language and visual composition" that "became technically possible only in film."

Where is Spirit Rock

There are many rocks in CP that are named-I don't see Spirit Rock as one of them.

I like the way you put these ideas into play, but do you think that is what they are trying to do? Subtle little clues?

I want to know why we never felt like we were in the Bronx. Is that the real Gorilla in the cabin? Not that I ever left the Maine Mon.

Summit Rock - Gorilla Rep show w/ puppets
different reference says the show was at Summit Rock

Summer Production of "Peer Gynt" In Central Park
By John Moore, on April 7th, 2009

Laura Lynn MacDonald's new adaptation of Ibsen's "Peer Gynt" is planned for Aug. 6-30 in Central Park, at Summit Rock near 83rd Street and Central Park West. The production will be staged by the Gorilla Repertory Theater.

Summit Rock is the highest elevation in the park, although it spends most of the year hidden from view by the surrounding stand of oak trees. Because of this it is generally unknown to the vast majority of park goers strolling around the Great Lawn a few hundred yards east. The place itself has an interesting history that extends back to before Central Park was built. It is known to have had a spiritual significance to the Manhatta Indians that lived nearby and was also an important gathering place for the inhabitants of Seneca Village, an established village a few hundred feet to the east and north. This was a community that was displaced by the construction of the park in the 1850′s. This should prove to be an interesting place to stage Ibsen's drama, which features many fantastic scenes derived from traditional Scandinavian fairytales.

Summit Rock
maybe the puppeteers haven't been subtle in clueing highest point

http://www.centralpark2000.com/database/summit_rock.html

At one time a Central Park visitor to Summit Rock had a clear view of the New Jersey Palisades.

Summit Rock is the highest natural elevation of them all reaching a height
of 141.8 feet. To this day a visitor can still get a glimpse of the Palisades in the distance through the sliver spaces
separating the tall buildings of the residential west side.

Summit Rock features an overlook with a stone buttress stretching out along its far eastern rim. This boundary in turn forms an
enclosure for a rustic stone "amphitheater" overlooking the wooded slopes to the east.

Situated along the rim are a row of benches flanked on the western edge with a fountain and stairs leading up to a grassy knoll, a perfect spot for sunbathers or those who
just want to relax or read.

Winding up the southern slope of the rock, and adding to its rustic setting, is a narrow
path with stone steps carved out of the bedrock.

Offering calm to the clamor just beyond its doorstep on Central Park West, Summit Rock is the perfect place for resident dog owners who can enjoy some moments of tranquility with their favorite companion

"Wait Until Dark" is a great movie
I'm a big fan of Audrey Hepburne

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogGKBiMX8KU

Given the choice of following a woman I've always adored and looking for a doll...

well, that's no choice at all.

As I vaguely recall, where did she hide the doll .. under the sink in the cupboard? was it in the trash can under the bag?

Few ideas

Episode 8, you can count the Captain's footsteps from the table to the candle, and then when he turns around to the envelope in the hammock where the final footstep is markedly different and he looks up to see Tutty.

I am trying to figure out how Episode 4 makes sense in its proper place, after episode 6 (Crothers without hand or leg and right after the Captain tells the Puppetmasters to give the clues (in the same way he told Tom to insert the clue after episode 2)),

Also, while the dead mans hand is Aces and 8s, and Tom won the Dead Man's Hand prize, I have been struggling to analyze the video post death of Crothers, as the Captain also won the dead man's hand.

I don't know whether its been mentioned but When Mulligan repeats potato, there is a clear little flash on his left right at 1:51

braille - numbers do the dots on the first frame of each?
what are they?

Here is the braille representation of numbers in case someone wants to compare the dots of two and three on the first frame of each episode.

http://www.pharmabraille.co.uk/images/braille-alphabet-numbers.gif

It is worth checking to see what the dots represent in braille totally apart from the connection just drawn to the Audrey Hepburne move. (Audrey Hepburne even went so far as to attend a school for the visually impaired and learn to read Braille to better understand her character.)

Episode 8 mentions find the flying birdie, follow his path, start at the ship, away from his nest...250 feet? Could they be referencing an airport? Signal tower?

Summit Rock is the high spot there in CP however, where would you even start to look for something?

The Polo Grounds are housing projects now.
