I don't see it as a problem.

Excessive earwax may be the problem here!

I don't get it.

I believe he is insinuating that there is copious amount of earwax contained (presumably) within my ear. Thus hindering my ability to hear homonims.

Yes and no to this. Certain lines definitely run certain types of cars, but there is considerable bleed. This is the case with both newer vs. older cars, as well as with some lines that have considerable track overlap.

Like I said, stand for an hour trainspotting. You'll see it's yes and yes. Besides being an observable condition, the entire operation runs off of line-centric depots; mixing cars would a mere impracticallity.

As far as the theory about the seats goes - I'm not saying it's certain one way or the other, but I always had a problem with the attempts to match the background color with train lines. The colors didn't match train lines, which would be red, yellow, orange: they all seemed to be shades of orange-yellows....like seats! Wink

The biggest misgiving for me was the two oranges and the two yellows. There aren't any stations that has two trains for the yellow line, two trans from the orange line, and one train from the blue.

Seats / Lines / Whatever

Coincidentally I just took my monthly Metrocard and took a one stop ride up and then back downtown to test out this "seat" theory.

Epic fail.

On the A line, the car I was IN had grey seats. The car behind me had multicolored seats. The car in front of me had multi-colored seats of different colors than the car behind me. When the E stopped, it had all grey seats. When the C stopped, it had multicolored setas AND grey seats. When the F stopped, it too had cars with nothing but greay, and cars with varying multicolored seats.

But whatever. I'm not here to argue about seats. The episode is about being on the subway and being on a certain line.

Here's a thought, though.... what do we DO at this "Port of Cortlandt"? I mean... in Episode 5 we are STILL on the subway, right? At least until the Captain says "reached the end of the line", right? So... at this "Cortlandt" stop, we transfer? To what line? What color train? and WHEN do we get OUT of the subway?

I'm not even asking what stop we get out of, I'm simply looking for the phrase in the episodes that says we exit the subway. Anyone?

28 Furlongs? (That's 3.5 miles.)

28 furlongs

That would lead us down the path of NUMBERING the clues, and so far, we've been highly unable to do such a thing. Also.... it's not certain WHERE we place Episode 4 yet, although MY assumption is AFTER Episode 6.

So... Episode 5? Is there a phrase or term that people have heard that says "get off the subway"??

Dang - I blame my keyboard and computer for the spelling mistake (for some reason this site loads *incredily* slow - I mean I sit and watch all the words I just finished typing for a minute before I can submit), but I hang my head in shame for mixing up homonyms and homophones.

Or maybe?

Since EPISODE 4 is "The Black Tom", and Black Tom's segment is BACKWARDS, and NORMALLY Black Tom's clues go FORWARD ONE....

In this instance, "to follow the way you must avoid the way you know..." and put Black Tom's clues in the PREVIOUS episode?

Whaddyathink?

So you'd be sayin' that, from your previous post about clue 4 being after clue 6, that the "NORTH REGION" apply to clue 6?

I am 99% sure I figured out where it is. Unfortunately I live no where close to NY. Can someone who live near or is willing to visit the bronx, please PM me if they are interested in a partnership?
