Guys. Please don't turn this into a bicker.

Look. There are clues to be found I you find them. Some people share and others just watch. I do both.

I am telling you. Watch episode 6 and just think. What happens? Write down the actions of the characters BRIEFLY. Just trust me! You are all smart enough to figure this out! And once you do? We can move on.

By the way.... I don't have the gifts but I know they are real.

And also? Trading info for info is the pirates way Wink

GIFT

Apparently my "gift" is no B.S. like alot of you are claiming, because I seem to have led AT LEAST 2 other people to finding it. I already told you my intentions.
I could have kept it to myself, and watch you all be stuck here for months until you give up. I put out enough info, so that some of you can find it.
Missry hit the nail on the head... Why would I give away a potentail clue that leads one of YOU to $10,000?
I was looking for 1 or 2 others who got the "Gift", so we can exchange info to see what it "means".

I'm not mentioning the "Gift" anymore... I apparently said TOO much to begin with...and seeing the attitudes of everyone on here, i suggest that the others who were smart enough to pick up on my clues, KEEP it to YOURSELVES, until we know what it really means!!

Hey CommonSense.. gotta just ignore the bashers.. there are a few ppl in this forum that I believe have useful input and you're one of the. just annoyed with myself that I haven't found it yet - but I will continue my search - I want a "present"! Appreciate any information you've given.

Good luck as always!

That's a juvenile waste of time.

Very ironic that the few that are crying about the "gift", and saying "this forum is for sharing".and "its total BS"...are the same few people who have contrbuted NOTHING to this treasure hunt!

Look at the names of the whiners .... and look what they have contributed. They sit here waiting for others to GIVE them a solution.

MY clue was just enough to give the people who actually have WORKED and contributed, a nudge in the right direction.

Just like all treasure hunts... the whining lurkers will fade away, and the people putting in effort will remain

some people like to think they have a gift
and you do the same thing with ordinary issues

As an example, you refer to Columbus Circle as being Port of Cortland - and say just look at a subway map. That's juvenile and annoying in the same way. SpyGuySailor did the same thing and it was very tiresome.

The difference with the gift you imagine you have, you don't believe us when we say you don't have a gift. That's usually the case in life.

You, sonic and missry and whoever imagines themselves to have a gift can form your own clique. There will always be people who want to think themselves -- market themselves -- as having a gift and deserving to be singled out. It's absolutely no different than the fellow claiming to have the bottles. He should have scanned an image if he wanted to gain feedback. Otherwise, he should have left the forum. At least the silent lurkers (takers) aren't annoying "riddle-me-this" teasers. Trust me, if you revealed your gift (I know what it is now) you would just be embarrassed at having been an idiot.

Other people are naturally giving and curious people and enjoy the sharing and intellectual challenge.

Besides, you never even considered the possibility that someone left you the gifts to mess with ya.

brainstorm

My buddy turned me on to this contest two days ago .. so clearly I'm probably a lot farther behind than people that have been plowing through this for the past two months. We had previously worked together on the NY radio station 92.3 NOW's "$10,000 Fugitive Contest" a year ago; which turned out to be well ... an inside job.

Any how; I've watched all the episodes multiple times and read through 160+ pages on this forum, and some people have some good ideas.

I do think the puppet masters are dropping a lot of things to "pay homage" or simply to pop/amuse themselves... the trailer in Larry King in particular.

We have two guys in their 30's from Brooklyn...people had posted 'relevant facts' about them earlier but then deleted them. Any reason why?

Was wondering people's take on the the last episode;

The start of the episode with the characters fading away one by one;
parrot, tom, mulligan, captain, crothers, treasure ... anyone think theres significance to this order?

I had a few thoughts ..and by no means am I claiming these to be accurate execution of clues or anything...just brainstorming;

The parrot , much like Mulligan has been doing the alchemy double repeat gimmick. Mulligan says things twice , the parrot echoes Captain.

In this episode the parrot repeats:

"Heidy hodie" - (first word anagrams into"HID YE")

"OOZIN BUGGERS" - (first word anagrams into "IN ZOO")

MULLIGAN: ( anagrams into "MAIN GULL")

Now I saw on earlier board posts that people were analyzing the "heidy hodie" and came up with Mr Wilson from Dennis The Menace and Wilson from Home Improvement references .. (granted was puzzled as why Wilson and not Ned Flanders...) ...but "heidy heidy ho" - is that not associated with Cab Calloway? Simple taxi cab reference? I dunno.

parrot head spin - Exorcist homage ..as clearly our Puppet Masters are old school horror fans .. but could this also be interpereted as Linda Blair's character Regan (whose head spun for those that didnt see the movie).. is this a Ronald Reagan reference? Longshot, sure..again just brainstorming.

"beer and pudding" - there's a Japanese song called "Beer To Pudding" which is about..well...it mentions a convenience store and bicycles. The Japanese & English lyrics can be viewed here: http://www.megchan.com/lyrics/index.php?title=Remioromen/Beer_to_Pudding

it just seemed ... I dunno odd... that right after Mulligan mentions Beer and Pudding .. that Tom's response in Japanese is almost like acknowledgement of what he's talking about. Followed by the line "Yes Tom All The Pudding You Can Eat" ...which made me think of Pink Floyds "The Wall" lyrics.

"Well, it's hard to concentrate when your sittin' on a beer volcano" -
pastafarian "beer volcano" = heaven. the "religion's" logo is a crab similar to Gibson and Nigel
(whom are perhaps homage to Statler and Waldorf from Muppets)

reaching: "satan/santa.... staten?". Initially watching the episode the Satan/Santa thing ... and "Lucifer" was mentioned .. by anagraming Lucifer doesnt really give a lot .. "CLUE FIR" .. I'm not thinking a Fir tree is relevant ...

"250 feet...249 ghost feets".... I dont know my initial thought was referencing 125 casualties as opposed to a literal measurement of 250 feet. My brain went to ... if anyone saw that film The Mothman Prophecies a few years back... I dunno.

"I wanted to be The Ghost Shooter" ...anyone?

referencing "should have been listening to Mulligan all along":

Mulligan's first line "MEEP" - homage to Beaker?
switch "C" and "P" (Pentral Cark) ...
"windowSELE" ....
switch "B" and "J" (belly jeans)
"crayolas - crayolees" ("a" = "ee"?)
drawing of captains foot print

the whole "POTATO" thing in Episode Two. Anyone have any thoughts on that? I dont know when I hear/see the word "potato" my mind automatically thinks of Vice President Dan Quayle mispelling it "POTATOE". in 1992..maybe our Puppet Masters were just big Mr Potato Head fans...

I like your thought process. I too came late (but I don't think it can be said I haven't been making an effort to contribute -- I certainly haven't been holding things back). In any event since we are just storming here, the 250 feet thing bugged me too... what if isn't referring to a measurement, but rather 125 people. Or some combination of people and horses.

In any event, its something else to light a few sparks (hopefully not huge tangents).

Keeping it simple...

What can the possible clue be of having the same names (Nigel & Gibson) who attacked the ship in episode 2 turn out to be a couple of crabs in episode 6?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigel_Gibson (he taught at Columbia, but is seems a little bit of a charged reference for this hunt.)

I see a couple things that pop up and disappear. I'm not sure what they mean, though.
