Id agree Meow. Plus the season ends in a week or so, and I cant imagine them limiting the search that way, though I suppose its a possibility.

The fun is not only in the Holy Mackerel but in the Red Herring!

Turtle

I just wanted to point out that, as mentioned way back, there is a giant turtle sculpture next to the giant snake sculpture in Marine Park.

There is a "Giant Turtle Movie", a B movie about a sea-spirit woman (Jenny Haniver). If it weren't for the bit about the keg of gunpowder, I would be pretty sure that the giant turtle reference was an homage to it. With the gunpowder, I think the submarine is a closer match.

Isn't it true that gov's island is only accessible during the summer/early fall months? Treasure was buried in November according to an article. So although it may be a stop - i dont think our treasure's buried here.

This is correct. It closes to the general public on Oct. 10. It may be that it is a clue, but not a stop/endpoint. I also doubt that it would be very easy to get 200lbs of coins there and buried unnoticed.

Captain Slim: who are the puppeteers?
you don't share (while being a cheerleader encouraging others to share)

that is annoying.

Now it is factual information that is important to share if you want help -- not the interpretations.

There is no privacy issue raised whatsoever.

If you like, you can delete the names later tonight after every one knows.

Re: Black Tom biography
engagement to Mariko

biographer wrote:
Turning to random items from the biography of the puppeteers, Black Tom is engaged to Mariko Yashida. Mariko's cousin is Sunfire who has the ability to absorb sunlight, and convert it into superheated plasma which burst into flame on contact with the air. She could use her plasma to fire beams of scorching heat or powerful bursts of solar fire. She could fly close to 100 mph by surrounding herself with a corona of fire, and then pushing the flames downward in a tight jet of superheated gas, shooting her through the air like a missile. Sunfire could see heat, by shifting her range of vision from normal light to infrared light.

OH NO DONT LET SIN VRAAAL FIND OUT!

by the way: Mariko Yashida is a Marvel Comics character that was engaged to The X Men's Wolverine...not sure how you have linked her to Black Tom from this here puppet show.

This is in response to your recent e-mail message to MTA New York City Transit requesting information about subway stations.

Dear Mr. XXXXX

Thank you for your recent inquiry. I must admit this was a bit of a challenge for us.

A majority of our stations have four lines that "run through them". Depending on time of day, and weekday versus weekend/holiday schedule, some of those lines may stop at these stations, while others will simply "pass through".

There are several that have MORE than four lines. Most notably are the major hubs and transfer stations such as Pennsylvania Station, Columbus Circle, Forest Hills in Queens and Broadway Junction, to name a few. There are also a few that have access to exactly five lines, but most of them involve a walk, or "walking transfer" from the original station. In our opinion, however, the only station in New York City that has direct access to five lines without LEAVING the station is the DeKalb Avenue Station in Brooklyn, New York. At this station you can access the B, M, Q, R and off times the D. Recent, and upcoming changes, to the lines may change this, so it is wise to check a recent schedule before boarding or traveling, but the DeKalb Avenue Station is functionally prepared to accept those five lines without leaving the station

We hope this information is helpful and thank you for having taken the time to write.

Can you help me out , please?

How many NYC SUBWAY stations have EXACTLY 5 train lines / platforms through them?

I like it. Anyone live close enough to do some photo-recon?

Also, along the lines of there being a split -- the Captain is this week's featured player.

Wow, that may be a record for MTA customer service! Someone should be promoted.

I don't mean to be annoying. What I know about the puppeteers is not at all relevant to the hunt... not at ALL. I merely know that they ARE puppeteers, and that our paths crossed five years ago on a project. I do not "hang out" with them, or have even shared so much as a beer with them. At this point, I can only say that I would recognize them... well, maybe TWO of them, on sight.

This hunt is about the puppets and their clues, no? Not the guys behind them (or UNDER them , I should say).

Anything... and I mean ANYTHING I might say could jeopardize the actual point. Don't you agree?

The hunt appealed to me because it involved puppets, and it's mere coincidence that I met them a few years ago.

Besides... much information about the puppeteers was already shared in this forum awhile back and it was deleted.

Hi all

I have been following the videos since the very beginning, and have been reading this forum from page one for the past couple weeks. I, like many of you, have been completely consumed by the pirates and this hunt. I have so many thoughts floating around in my head that they keep showing up in my dreams. So I've joined this forum as a way to get out some of the nonsense in my head and maybe making some sense out of it, or bringing something into focus.

I think you all have done a fantastic job and come up with some amazing things that I may have otherwise missed. I do have to say, Cap'n Slim that I completely understand what you are trying to do and can appreciate it. When everyone is so overwhelmed with 8 videos full of clues, homages or general nonsense, peoples' contributions can get confusing or off track. I think it is a great idea to try to have some sort of organization and focus. However, not everyone wants to play exactly the way you do. This forum is supposed to be for sharing ideas, whatever those ideas may be or wherever they fall into the timeline. Someone could contribute something that seems out of place, but gives you an aha moment that puts us on the right track. I don't think it's anyone's place to prevent people from posting what they want, or trying to direct them to post a specific thing. Again, this forum is for everyone at every stage. You said you weren't rude, but IMHO "pffft. whatever." seems a bit rude to me. Especially since UDbmas was just saying they didn't agree with the Port of Cortland being DeKalb(which I am not really in agreement with at this point either). All I'm saying is, there have been many people on this forum that have contributed small bits that got the gears moving and I think no one is more valuable that anyone else. There has been a lot of unnecessary fighting that is counter productive and the forum doesn't need to lose more valuable players because of it. Let's let everyone play the way they'd like to play, contribute what they'd like, and use all the info the best we can.

UDbmas...please don't leave! You have been a major major contributor for a long time!!

Cap'n Crunchers

Didn't the captain mention something about cereal on the twitter account-can that account technically be used for clue grabbing?

random thought: in the Featured Player segment, the captain talks about players that bring lucky charms to the table. Looking at the marshmallows that come in Lucky Charms cereal, there have been green clovers (clubs), blue diamonds, pink hearts... but no spades... might be relevant somehow.[/quote]

Re: Turtle

I feel after Mulligan throws the spy glass into the water in Ep. 2 that the enemy was looking back at him at a slightly lower level-somewhat submerged.
