Just read the day's posts
Here's what I have to bounce back for anyone who wants

Pierre, farewell to you and thanks for the extensive work. I hope you had fun in the country and thank you for the openness of your gift. Going to analyze it carefully tomorrow, but it sounded logical and definitely made use of more of the video than I was at first satisfied.

UDBmas, I hope you join us back in the forum. I am all for free speech and brainstorming, so bring back everyone even SpyGuy. I've always felt that this game is a strategy of who keeps the best notes, not who solves clues the best. And I want your voice in the book/documentary.

Cap'n, Lighting puppies on fire, by far made me laugh the hardest of all of the posts. It inspired me to commission a cartoonist to draw for segways in the documentary. Yes it will be in the likeness of you.

I am on my second view of all of these notes, while also keeping up with the created notes, so please forgive me if I ask someone to repeat a connection for me, but here are my questions/points.

In all of the theories that suggest the cards are speaking of subway lines, what does the 8 stand for? It doesn't seem to really fit without a leap, that I'm not yet comfortable with.

Besides Port Morris and Van Cortland Park having "Port" and "Courtland(t)" in their names, is there anything else attracting anyone there. I haven't found, but am going to do another look-thru.

I am amused by the Brighton-Britain possibility, but spectacles. Smile

Cap'n, you mentioned a while back that, I believe, SpyGuy gave us a huge leak/hint with the Gorilla in the Cabin line. Do you remember what you were referencing?

Going to attack some tasks tomorrow, and hopefully it will not rain and I can get pictures on Thursday (my next free day).

EDIT- Sorry I can't be more helpful tonight, it took me nearly and hour and a half to get through everything talked about. Need sleep to process.

 Final Solution
Its a Mad, Mad, Mad World

I concur with Episode 1 and 2 posted by you guys on this forum.
My solution to Episode 3,5,6 was posted on pg 202. (however i dont think they get of the yellow subway at the end of 6 anymore. End in Canal St.)
Here is my solution to Episode 4,7,8.
Happy hunting.

EPIDODE 4:
CLUE: TITLE
Being named Black Tom means this comes after the actually video. With the Reverse clues we must reverse IV to VI in the title screen. So this Comes before the 7th episode, as is a pure episode unto itself.

CLUE:Reversed Audio/Flipped Video.
Black Toms audio reversed tells you "you must avoid the way you have known" so we need to use a different subway NNW.

CLUE:Furlongs
For Long Island RR

CLUE:Numbers
41 42 28 f 43
14 28 34 f 42
If we flip the order around, last first etc, and reverse the numbers we get..well something thats takes you up the BLUE line, 14,34(LIRR),42,...82?

EPISODE 7:
CLUE:Seen a night before.
In episode 2 it became night at COLUMBUS CIRCLE.

CLUE:Moon colour of blood that night.
We were on a RED 1,2,3 line last time.

CLUE:Moon is now blue.
We are on the BLUE line at Columbus circle this time.

CLUE:Over a sea as dark as wine.
We have crossed the red line.

CLUE:Jack
Jack is the RED line, we were originally on.

CLUE:Swallowed by the gates of hell.
Does the red line head into Hells Kitchen?

CLUE:Shooting ghosts.
BLUE line passes the filming site of ghostbusters finale building.

CLUE:Can see Jack again. When they cut him. Twice.
Between 103/110 st the RED line passes under the BLUE. Second CUT.

CLUE:Do you hear a wail?
Wail = WHALE. We are at the Natural History Museum. Giant whale is inside.

CLUE:2,3 Knocks from a ghost.
Have we just crossed JACK the 2,3 RED Line?

EPISODE 8:
CLUE:Crothers.
Captain wants to speak to Crothers, who is only recently dead. He is MODERN HISTORY. We are at the Metropolitan History Museum.

CLUE:250 Feet. Home sweet home.
Presumeable we are heading back to the start to make a closed loop.

CLUE:Tutty is buried in the chest.
We can HEAR a bird when we stand on the digging spot.

CLUE:Tutty is making a Clock face with his peg arm/leg.
3:42?

CLUE:Crothers was right from the very beginning.
Episode 1 told us to outline our path. It makes a severed arm.

CLUE:With us the whole....
The severed arm has a watch. [TIME is a recuring theme]
The watch has a face.[FACE is a recurring theme]
Find the centre of ther watch. Dig.

CLUE:Full of sweets?
Sweets:M'M store?
Boat:??
Birdy:Creepy herald square owl.

Its in Time Square. An art installation has been there for 2 years where you can hear a sound.
http://www.timessquare.com/New_York_City/Times_Square_NYC/Mysterious_Noises_on_46th_Street/

If its a parrot, dig the hell out of time square. Noone will mind. Trust me.

Crothers final chest location clue:
If the NYE ball is the bird in its nest, (crows nest), then that building is the boat you must stay on this triangle section, the bow of the boat. It may also refer the the military badges on the tiny building.

Whats under this GOLD grate? :

Midsummer Quote

I know the Midsummer quote that you're referring to. I just finished directing a production of it.

"I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine:"

It's from Act II, scene i. Oberon is talking to Puck after Puck has brought him "Love in Idleness" (pansies) with which to charm Titania's eyes so that she will fall in love with the first thing she sees (Bottom who has been transformed into an ass).

Party Time

I really wish I could find this treasure. 10G wouldn't go far these days but it would make for a great party. If I found the $ I would host a party (Tavern On the Green?) for all the posters here to meet and greet. Think of the fun we would have comparing notes and drinking wine!

Re: Mario and Fafa expressly reference "Lost" and DVC
and the puppeteers do through clues

"Why would these guys reference that? I just can't believe that they would, not the style at all. LOST was mass-market too, maybe, but I think DVC would really be beyond the pale. They certainly would not base any key points on it."

The book is a worldwide bestseller that sold 80 million copies as of 2009 and has been translated into 44 languages. This makes it, as of 2010, the best selling English language novel of the 21st century I think it qualifies as mass market.

JRC, have you watched the video where Mario and Fafa reference both the "Lost" numbers and the DaVinci code? When you call the Wyoming number in the comic, you get Lottery numbers ala Lost. Adding up to 18 rather than 108 on "Lost." The difference is you drop a "0". This seems in the nature of a clue of some sort.

Given the shadow-casting obelisks used to tell time (and there are 5 sundials including one hidden), I would say that "time" is the key and that "X" marks the spot for the reasons given. It may only be that if you have an Apple like the puppeteer/IT presumably guy does, that it ripples and enlarges.

In fact, I'll have to look back to see if the water bottle is actually a vinegar bottle. In DaVinci code the key word for the big cryptex, as I recall, was DREAM and CROSS. But I think if you failed vinegar would be released and the message destroyed.

Hey Spainard, You keep saying the lotto numbers add up to 18....can you please explain this?? Why are you dropping the zero?

Episode 4

I was thinking about episode four and wondering if we left clue 28 in place and moved clue 41, 42 & 43 ahead with Crothers, and used Toms clue either in episode 3 or episode 6. I was trying to count my clues to see if clue 28 is really the 28th clue, then it would be in the right spot....and then amount of clues up to clue 40 then we would know where to put Crothers clues. I have counted 16 clues up to the end of episode 2 and have no idea what to use as a clues in episode 3. Has anyone made a list or counted?

If there is 16 in the first episode there would have to be 12 in episode 3 to add up to 28 by episode four. I thinking maybe I missed something as a clue in episode 1&2.

Another thought on this is that since Crothers is not shown when we see clue 42 is that we should have 42 clues at that time ??

Ghostbusters, Central Park West and Tavern on the Green
Zul seeks the key master (Bill Murray) at 55 Central Park West

I can feel a lot of ENERGY gathering on this Ghostbusters lead!

Zul seeks the keymaster Bill Murray (Fafa's a big fan of Murray - see 2009 twitter post by Fafa) at 65th Street. Bill is contemplating being part of Ghostbusters III which may come out Christmas 2012.

Tavern on the Green was where Rick Moranis pounded on the door trying to escape a hound of hell.

Hook and Ladder #8 was where the exterior shots were filmed. It's a working firehouse in Tribeca.

Was Rick Moranis itching?

Were they summoning the demons?

Tim the screen writer is a monster slayer who made a Ghostbusters proton pack for his daughter for Halloween in 2009. And so given how their general tastes run, I would watch Ghostbusters to see what solid connections there are.

I would also consider the tv series HEROES. I'm not familiar with it but I think they used the same building. In Ghostbusters, the building was changed by the art department.

If someone decides this is how they want to use their loot, I'm there. The only feet in Tavern on the Green these days are ghost feet though. And maybe an occasional security, maintenance or homeless person (or a potential buyer.)
