Ye-Har, Cap'n 12fingers....

I ain't be sayin' much on these here forums'k, but I've been here since this here ship did launch, I have.

I ain't got no opinion'sk on anyones idears or thinky-thoughts on the treasures restin'k place'k.... no'r will shares me own.

I have only question'sk... and, purhaps, can offer some anskwers.... and I ain't here to make no shipmates, neither!!!

Presently, I have but one question'sk for the forums.... what was yer' final determinations for the "Port of Cortland" clues? I ain't never seen a consensus'k or percentage'sk of who though what was where, I didn't.

... and to Captain 12Finges.... perskonally... I sent ye' a message in a bottle on the face'kbooks, I did. I have a question for ye, I do. If you would be so kind, as to cons'kider asns'kerin' my question, my lass... although the thought of ye' hands with the extry finger and all, makes me sick as a deckmop it does....

A pirate's luck to ye, all of ye. Scourge and me do wish you a pros'kperous voyage. Batten' down yer' hatches though, fer the skies... they be swirling dark, they do.

Did you send me a message on FB? Not sure if I got it? I don't usually befriend people I don't already know. I tell the same thing to the wee one in the house.

We'll I believe that Port of Cortland is not what most people on here think it is. So, if I tell you that would be a big dead give away as to the area where the chest is. There sure are 5 docks though but, you could only see 4 from where you are. All I could say is I'm not on the same path as people on here that is for sure.
Yes, I am having trouble narrowing things down. Sure I could tell you 250 ghost feet, I could tell you what I believe the chest is under but, still I am having trouble narrowing those darn paths. Forget Mulligan's he is the hardest. That is all I could say. Hopefully something will jog my thinky thoughts.

Unite
For Gold and Glory

Alright...I originally stumbled on this hunt and the board, and wanted to consolidate information (see my failed and only authored thread...womp-womp-womp...) but after analysis, and research, I think I've come to a conclusion. I think that not everyone's "varying and wildly differing theories" are as varied and wildly differing as we all think they are at heart.

I'm a New Yorker - I do my job, have my day-to-day, but I want a bit of excitement...I love a spotlight. I'm calling out, to all major/active/willing/optimistic hunters from this board in the 5-Borough area to rally. Let's all, as a group, set aside a block of time, a place public place with Wi-Fi, and an itinerary for solving this hunt. Organize our notes, bring our maps, hedge the bets.

I don't mind a four or five way share of $10,000...let's make some news, I say, get our names in the paper for a day. Say that outside our normal lives, we did something more than a normal person would. We're New Yorkers - and I say Unite!

arrrgh.

Aye, 12fingers... I hears ye. But I ain't askin' ye for friendships or to be shipmates even on the facek'books... I merely sent ye a letter is all. I may have some solutions for ye concerning Mulligan, I might.

As fer teaming up and corroboratin' a teams with ye, I cares not to join forc'kes. And it don't nesskesarilies means I don't like ye.... but it coulds.

First time poster, follower since the beginning....

I dug for gold, I looked like an idiot.

I have questions if anyone can answer them. Does anyone know what the markers might be? How about the treasure being near a webcam? Has anyone searched Pelham Bay Park?

Thanks in advance!

This freaking hunt

It has been ~1 year since the last video, they recorded a video in late september which they released in November that was saying nobody had found it yet.
http://www.youtube.com/user/welostourgold#p/c/32649714235A831E/0/BqgBQIE2Fvw
The fact that its been in the ground > 12 months and the fact that they recorded this video ~ a month and a half before it was released for viewing seems really strange to me.

How sure are we that this is a legit treasure hunt and not just a huge joke?
I know its been asked before, but I feel like every passing month makes it less likely that the chest actually exists

New Yorker here, thought that the game was over. There was that guy last year who claimed that he figured it all out, all neat and tidy, it all made sense, so elegant and simple, blah blah blah. So what happened? Who wants to put their heads together?

Edit: Some searching through gmail has refreshed my memory. There was a dude on Tweleve last ~december or so who announced that everything would be wrapped up by christmas. He had everyone convinced. Then all action seemed to die in April and I forgot about the game until now. I dunno if there's been much developmet and I've forgotten what I learned. Is there a summary page? Would rather not go through 250+ pages again.

Hunted again today

Searched the statue in Pelham Bay Park today according to the comic book clue. No luck though. I was sure Missry would have found it by now, seems to have the best info. Didn't I read somewhere that the spot is clearly marked? Does it have to be near the docks? Did anyone ever confirm receiving things in the mail from the P.O. Box address? I never received anything but my letter never came back.

I think it's only fair that if one of us finds it, some portion should be donated to UF.

Edit: Ungh. I don't want to sit through the videos again. They've worn thin.

Stupid question, but has anyone actually tried to translate Mulligan's idiotic morse code? "We should have listened to Mulligan at the very beginning." might mean "We should have just used the morse code he was spouting."

Except I don't hear any dashes, only dots. It would seem to limit it. But there are times when you can see him saying dots and such even if you can't hear him.

Somebody mentioned on facebook that the 1 year anniversary of the final clue is in a few days. I'm curious to see if the authors post anything new (I doubt it). If not I will post my last big clue that I've been holding onto.

RE: Mulligan from the very beginning

The morse code (along with the parrot's morse code) spell out very clearly Start at Wallach Walk.

I tried going by just Mulligan's alone and got nothing.

I tried turning it upside down. Got nothing.

I think it is all in the Window Sill --> Window Sele clue. I've yet to hear a good explanation to that.

I think the flying bird is the Grand Central Eagle (+ the Grand Central Chairs from video 7)... credit on both of those goes to merelyviral (if I recall correctly).

Is the ship (as in: "Oh, but away from the ship?") meant to be Grand Central (as encompassed by Park Ave?)

Still can't figure out how to get from Grand Army Plaza to Grand Central, because I think the 28 furlongs (is too far) should fit, but it doesn't.

I want the gold, but I seriously want this to be over with also...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while... I still think everything I've posted here is correct, the problem is that I went to search for the gold at the location at the end of my path. Now, I'm thinking "Listen to Mulligan from the very beginning" refers to the "Code of All Codes", Mulligan tracing the captain's foot. I traced out my path on a map and got something that looks remarkably like the skeleton's arm on the welostourgold website (the one with the pointed finger that points to the Contact button on any of the pages other than Home). On my map, the "finger" seems to be pointing at a specific neighbourhood, and I have a good idea of where it must be.

Like last time I thought I solved it, I'm going to go check it out the next time I travel to NYC, and then post my full solution on here Smile

Numbers 20

So here is a possible clue that I haven't yet shared (I have just a few left). I haven't yet confirmed it, but it seems to make a lot of sense. It is in reference to The Captain's Numbers.

"This week's winning numbers be twenty, seventeen, sixteen, fourteen, twenty-one, and twelve. On the treasure ball be eight."

I always suspected that this was pointing us to Numbers 20:
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers+20&version=NKJV

17, 16, 14, 21, 12, 8 are all valid verse numbers. How do you use this? Not sure. I tried lots of stuff. I tried a Bible (book) Cipher, I tried using certain letters, etc. I couldn't find anything that works.

It is somewhat interesting that verse 17 mentions the King's Highway, since there is one that runs through Brooklyn and many of us have the puppets in Brooklyn going into this episode.

FYI- I just tried calling the number for this again and nothing happens. Just rings and rings...
