I was thinking about how they would know when the treasure was found, especially in light of trying the Dodge Journey search. From that I realized that my previous thought of a live cam on it at all times would be way too costly at this point. Dodge used phone numbers at the end allowing them to track who was progressing through the clues. So maybe there's something similar at work here... A phone number hidden in the episodes that you call? Or a phone number at the end instead of the treasure that you call to retrieve the treasure.

Just a thought.

Agree. Because you need the permission of the 'property owners'.

Having phone number there would be good espically if some people went crazy digging up someone yard or place of business. We could have funny news report with people random checking like some movie.

GODDAMN!

I've just finished reading through 266 pages of this stuff.

So far nobody who has posted on the forum with an "exact location" has come back gloating nor have they come back at all so I take it this chest is still in the depths. I've gone through many many posts and done alot of google work, to lead me (and this forum in general) with not much at all.

I would share information with anyone still alive on this forum but most of it is opinions on clues and suppositions that seem to make sense. Much of the reading was laced with insanity (there are posters here who seem to be making connections out of thin air) and useless bickering over egos.

In my opinion, I think if the forum simply put together a new thread or a single post that simply posits potentially useful information gathered throughout the entire series of videos, everyone would be able to go over pure information in a clear and concise light, allowing everyone to then post theories and maps and possible locations and whatnot.

Of course I say this as a person who would (greedily) like to have money to put towards my own means, I would also be content to see this ARG played out to it's fullest extent. Twisted Evil

I know where it is!! I know it!

I just need a little help. OK, so I'm know this post is going to be majorly scattered, but bear with me. First of all, there IS a phone number hidden in the videos (can't remember which one- the one with the comic book, there's a number somewhere on there) and when you call it, one of the puppets reads a list of "lottery" numbers. The phone number to call is: 307-275-1033 The numbers they read off are: 17 16 14 21 12 and the "treasure ball number" 8
I have no idea what these numbers mean and I can't help but think they are the final key to the exact location.
OK, so here is what I know and again, it's going to be scattered because I don't remember which videos and what exactly was said but here is what I do know. Today I took the subway to Coney Island and got off at Stillwell Ave. As soon as I got out, I saw it all come together. Here are my random notes trying to explain it.

The crow's nest (Astro Tower IS the crow's nest)
"Look for the flying birdie and follow its path" THIS is where it all came together. When you look up from the crow's nest, you see... "The Soaring Eagle" ride. That's the flying birdie! So I followed it and it led me to... the Scream (ie. ICE SCREAM from video 1), the "heavily muscled man", and then the map at Coney Island which has the pirate ship! Also from one of the videos the Captain is telling Mulligan to be civil to "his peers even if his face has fallen off and satan turned his arms into spiders." I'm thinking it meant "PIERS" and there is the octopus-spider-like ride near the Steeplechase Pier. There is also the candy shop and the brewing company all right there which is referenced at some point when the spirit they channel says he was "too full of sweets and drunk" to remember. Also, when they show the floating picture at the end where 250 ft is written, where is says "Home Sweet Home" there is a circle that looks like one of those red and white peppermint candies. When I got to Coney Island today and looked at the map, there it was right there on the map- the same candy.

Look, I know this post is completely off-the-charts random, but I swear, if you were there, you would be able to see everything I saw. My ADD is so bad though I can't figure out the rest. I can't figure out the exact location, but I also think I did stumble across the perfect spot where I think it is buried. I don't want to go start digging by myself and I need someone to help me figure it out so if anyone is willing to go with me again tomorrow, let me know. I'm only about 115 lbs anyway and wouldn't be able to carry it back myself! Lol! I'll split it with you. Otherwise, I'll go myself tomorrow because I'm 95% sure I know the spot. Anyone up for it!?

Let us know how you make out. There are some positives to the treasure being buried on a beach. It's okay to dig there, and at certain times of the year I think it may be possible to sneak the chest to certain spots and bury it without being noticed. However I'm not sure how they would know if it was found.

Coney Island has been mentioned a few times because of Hellgate and because they have a pirate ship. I have some of the crew there in ep5. For example, "Nice hat. Where's your legs?" is a reference to Neptune and Mermaid IMO. Anyway, good luck.

Construction

Construction threw me off today. I am still 100% certain it is there. Every single video has a reference to it and once you are there, it's very obvious. It's just not obvious where. I am pretty sure it's not buried in the traditional sense. I think it's buried but at "ground level" and I can't remember where that particular reference came from, but it also makes sense. I was distracted when I was watching the Larry King episode, but at one point wasn't there a woodchuck or something in it with another puppet and suddenly they were on top? That made me think "wood on top" which could mean it's under the boardwalk. Or it could mean that there are wood chips on top of where it is buried, which would also make sense because in between the entrances to the boardwalk, there are very small areas with wood chips and mulch and plants. They each have a small sign that says, "Green Streets" and they are right in front of where one would go to go under the boardwalk. Ironically, the "Soarin' Eagle" (aka flying birdie) is directly in front of the one I was sure it would be, but today they were doing construction and had areas off limits, which totally threw me off and depressed me. Sad I checked and the Footprints cafe is still there though. Anyway, there were a ton more clues that popped out today, but I still think one of the biggest indications is the fact that the Gold Dollar Hotel used to be there. I mean, really. OK, well, I'm tired. At least I had a good time walking around since it was so nice out today and I brought my camera and got some good pics. (At least I hope they came out OK- haven't checked yet!)

I wrote to General Anesthetic

I sent a letter to the following address:

General Anesthetic
P.O. Box 294A
Casper, Wyoming,
82602

And a few weeks later had my letter returned with "Return to Sender, Attempted, Not Known" stamped on it, along with "Not 294" jotted down on it. So. There's that.

Black Tom's clues

So Black Tom's sign post numbers belong in The Chase, his 1, 2, 3, 4 belong in The Larry King, his throwing star belongs in the WPPPT, his card-switching belongs in Monkey Business, his talk about their paths being one and destiny belong in The Black Tom, his talk about avoiding the way you've known/come and The North Part belong in The Ghost Story, his dusting (the only thing he does in The Ghost Story) belongs in The Séance, and he only mutters fake Japanese during The Séance so there's nothing left over or left to belong in the first video. Right?

A general timeline

From very far away, we have the story of pirates who steal a treasure, galavant a bit, bury it, forget where they buried it, then try to remember where it is.

From a closer view:
The pirates meet sometime in the distant past.
They steal a treasure from Glove and Boots.
They run through Central Park (referenced in episode 1).
They get chased (ref in ep 2).
They board the subway and split up (ref in ep 3).
They continue on the subway? Maybe ride buses (ref in ep 5)?
They join back up outside of the subway (ep 6).
I have no idea what they're referencing in episodes 4, 8, and 9.

Now some time between stealing the treasure and here, they bury it.
Also some time after stealing the treasure and before burying it, Crothers loses an eye (the beginning of the final episode shows him all in one piece with the treasure).
Then they discover that they've forgotten where it is.

They talk about codes and retracing their steps (happens in ep 1).
They get chased by the British (ep 2).
They go on The Larry King (ep 3).
They play poker (ep 5).
They watch a video of a monkey reading a comic of them, then get attacked by the gorilla (ep 6).
The Black Tom happens (ep 4).
They talk of ghosts and Crothers gets killed (ep 7).
They hold a séance (ep 8 ).

Now it's just zooming in further that's got me hung up for now.

Whatever

Whatever, I think it's an excellent idea to go over the story and clues in a very simple way, as you have done. Getting back to basics can be very useful.

Good hunting!

Crothers, luck, and the parrot

So Crothers is the luckiest man alive and all that luck were bad. Since winning the parrot, the captain's luck hit the end of the line. Crothers possesses the parrot and knows that all his (the parrot's) luck were bad. So was Crothers just fated to possess this parrot at some point or are these things more than simple foreshadowing? I know that Crothers is used as a timepiece to tell the order of the episodes but it looks like he represents luck somehow as well. Anybody figure out anything more solid on this particular topic?
