Hai means yes in Japanese.

According to this Glossary of Kendo Terminology, "Ichi Ni San Shi" is a chant that is used by Kendo practitioners, which seems apt given Black Tom's background and the fact that he was using what looked like a Japanese sword during the sequence.

Dooooo was just my phonetic interpretation of what Black Tom was saying. I don't believe it was intended to be a word with meaning.

From my own observation as well as the observations made by previous posters in this thread, it appears that the puppetmasters are not really familiar with the Japanese language.

Thanks for that link, fellowtravler Smile
Are you still keeping a map? I added what I thought were the clues for episode 2 on my google map http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=116942545679104253802.00048cebf7b6653bd39a5&ll=40.769004,-73.975132&spn=0.009491,0.016458&z=16

Not sure if this is the best route....I'm wondering why the long route out around the ballfields???

I dont think that the long route around the fields really matters cause its just how the dots connect but you have to understand they are giving obvious clues which make this trail that now ends around that silver globe but there are also clues that point to a bigger picture that take much more investigating...or at least thats my though, maybe others have better ideas

Agreed. Each set of clues leads you down a route, and one clue from each set will be used at the end. The clues do lead you to a literal path but there is a big picture in each set of clues which will ultimately lead you to the even bigger picture aka the shiny coins.

That is definitely possible....but right now I'm just trying to stay simple.
Out of curiosity what makes you think that there will be one clue from each set that will lead to the end instead of a few clues from each set?

You are right. I meant to say that clues from each will be used.

new guy
new clue

I was thinking, Nigel and the other 'gent look at Mulligan through some kind of telescope or spotting scope. Aren't those around Central Park too? The ones that cost a quarter?

Gold on the brain

Hello! I wanted to thank all the posters here who have made this hunt all the more intriguing - and kudos on decrypting all those opaque clues. Verily, an impressive display.

I had one issue to bring up, small though it may be. During the 1-2-3-4 anime sequence, the imagery along with 3/san was Mt. Rushmore. It screams "CLUE!!!" and I like the extrapolation of Roosevelt from it. But I had another, slightly more Red Herringesque rationale I thought I'd bring up. Though my lovely Japanese wife thinks I'm laughable for even saying so (as is so often her wont Razz ), how about this - San, when used as a suffix (i.e., Fuji-San) means, simply, Mountain. Just an idea.

Another thing. Though it might not provide any real help to anyone participating, would a video taken of the walk thus far interest anyone? I work a few blocks from the park and could quite easily drop in. For those of the community here who are plaing from a far I figure it would be at the very least edifying. I'd be happy to, but I only ask that someone figure out a way for me to communicate it - Can a large file be posted here? Something involving torrents, perhaps?

Keep up the great work!

LOL I didn't even think of Tutty!
