I don't see a rat anywhere in episode two. Can you please post a screenshot that shows the rat?

For serious, me neither. He's riding maybe a sperm or horseshoe crab...maybe. But always happy to have an excuse to listen to the "In Japanese" song again. Has a tendency to get lodged in one's noggin.

I don't see Tom riding anything at all. Are you referring to the yellow glow/aura that surrounds him as he burst out of the lower decks of the vessel? I assumed that was just a reference to the glow that a Super Saiyan achieves when reaching full power in the popular manga series Dragon Ball (and its many variants and offshoots).

I just watched it and I don't see him riding anything either. WeeWillyT, can you post the time in the video that shows it please ?

Dang, we're all talking about the same thing... and all equally clueless about where this rat is. Ahem, are people attempting to see a rat to jive with Rat Rock? It's a big, yellow, pointy, glowing sperm to me. The manga idea seems about right: just an aesthetic choice employed in mimicry of a popular art form.

octopus

I was just going back through some old posts and there were a few references to the pirates' "octopus with six legs" logo. I'd just like to point out that squids have six legs, so... it's a squid -- with a skull for a head.

When Black Tom says "Ichi. Ni. Son. Chi. Doooooo!" does any one know what something that sounds like Doo means in japanese?

I believe 'do' is just used as a counter. he's countering the sun's blow. It's like saying "Hi-Yah!"

At least that's what I'm going with...

Not really following this but clicked by accident so decided to look around some and saw this post. I did search and didnt see anyone mention this so if trout please forgive.

I checked out the video and I think it's someone saying 5 in japanese, but not doing so very well. "go" is 5. Hope this helps some how.

Here's a fun vid to learn to count in japanese.

Re: octopus

Nevermind about the squid thing. A quick google search shows that squids have 10 arms, not 6. Don't know why I posted something like that without looking it up first. Sorry!

Sorry I thought you had posted that there was a rat......got the wrong person. It was Syracuse Spaniard who said it.

*snort* Love it! No harm done. Besides, how many squid or octopus make it to old age with all their junk intact? (How many humans for that matter...)

Doing a quick search I only found that insects have 6 legs. I did find a riddle though, I still don't know the answer to Smile
What has six legs but never moves, gets older but never changes, and can reach the clouds but cannot fly?
