So we are to imagine that the creators would happily obviate all of their efforts by giving someone a free pass to ignore the next five videos?
Most suspicious.

I have to agree, it just seems way too convenient. Maybe they are clues that are supposed to supplement the videos, forcing you to walk the path. But in all honesty, I'm not going around digging for bottles in Central Park. Who knows what I'll pick up.
OR, they won't stay put long, with the homeless people collecting them at night.

Not exactly

The letter states that I should "ignore all of Cruthers and Mulligans clues, as they don't have a wit between them, and pay attention to ONLY THE CAPTAINS CLUES".

It then continues to state that in the videos I have to listen for stepping directions... so I'm not exactly IGNORING the next five videos, mind you.

Who is this a picture of?

Mel Gibson. It's a single frame from the trailer for Apocalypto. It has nothing to do with anything, its just a really really really good way of hiding Mario in the trailer and being able to point back to him once they referenced it.

Also, until I see the letter, I find it to be suspicious. It relies too much on luck and undercuts the fun of the videos.

Besides, if its found now, who knows what other talk show personalities we won't get a chance to see in puppet form?

ANYONE ELSE????????

Congrats (maybe) Kelly!

I'm going to walk the path on my lunch break and look for more bottles... in like five minutes.

I can't seem to post my copy.... Do I have to join to post or something?

I'm so lost right now. I keep looking at subway maps for nyc and I'm just getting more and more confused. Here in Boston it's simple, red line, green line etc...not multiple A, B, C or 1,2,3... trains on the same colored tracks. Is there some method to the way the tracks/trains are colored/lettered/numbered???

Don't get me started with the Boston subways system...or Baaahhstun, period. Here in the Big City we have locals, expresses, and different termination points for each - hence different designations for trains supposedly running on the same track. For instance, the 1 is local (as was the 9, RIP), and the 2 and 3 are both express - but they both start/end at different places in Brooklyn and the Bronx. Same with the A/C/E, 4/5/6, B/D/F and N/R/Q. Best way to tell a foreigner/transplant is to hear them talk this "Red line Blue line Yellow line" mumbo-jumbo...and then have to look st hopstop to figure out how to get around. Argh!

Yes I'm a New Yorker. And yes, I look down the end of my nose at the rest of the nation.

Hooray!

I have only been here about 11 years. My husband spent many years here when he was younger so he still calls them the IND, BMT and IRT. So I says to him, I does, "gimme LETTERS & NUMBERS or COLORS"... And I have to use HopStop so I know which way to walk AFTER I get back above ground!

I also look down my nose...but usually because the NYC sidewalks will move on ya if you don't watch 'em whilst ya walk! Cool

Did either of you notice anything on the subway map/ light board in the video? Missing station or line or something?

Now that sounds fishy to me. We've already solved several clues, some from Tom, from Mulligan, Crothers and the Captain.. Mulligan gave the clue about the Maine monument, are we really expected to ignore that?
