Port of Cortland
The Unsolved and Most Obvious Clue

I feel like we are missing something huge with the Port of Cortland clue that will clear everything up. Here's everything I have thought of and I hope it sparks someone else.

1) If this is referring to either of the Cortland-esque trains tops, then the word is spelled incorrectly. It should be spelled Cortlandt, with a "t" at the end.

Does this mean anything? What about in relation to the missing R (Cental Park) and the extra 0 (or o) in 10,0000? Are we trying to spell a hidden word? ROT? What could that mean?

2) Why call it the Port of Cortland if it is referring to another stop on the subway? Why not call it something that would reflect another subway stop? Not convinced that anyone has really answered this obvious question. Myself included.

3) Something interesting, but I have no way of tying it in, if you look at Cortlandt Street in NY (where the subway stops are) on Google, and go West top the water, perfectly in line with Cortlandt Street is the North Cove, and there are 5 docks in that port. Coincidence? I have no clue.

4) I also keep going back to the old reverse the P with the C and coming up with Court of Portland. However, I haven;t been able to make any sense of this either.

5) The Captain crosses the 5th clue off the list. Does that have any special meaning.

I really think once we solve this one, the entire episode will suddenly make perfect sense.

Solo Joe is sending up a rescue flare. Hope someone sees it and sends a ship.

brainstorming PORT OF CORTLAND
understanding the word "dock" in the computer sense with the new APPLE

Brainstorming here... does it refer to the Cortland apple?

When used in connection with computers, dock means

"(2) (Dock) The launching pad for applications in the Mac OS X operating system. SeeMac Dock."

After the many attributes of McIntosh apple were discovered, plant breeders began crossing it with other varieties to enhance its traits. One of the earliest was the Cortland.

The apple was named after nearby Cortland County, New York

The launching pad for applications in the Macintosh. Working like an animated taskbar, the Dock was introduced with Mac OS X. As the cursor is moved along the Dock, the icons are magnified, and this creates a rippling effect. The Dock can be located at the sides or bottom of the screen and can be set to autohide. Icon size and their amount of magnification can also be adjusted.

There are 4 that can be seen, at the sides or bottom, and five if you count the one set to autohide (where it can't be seen).

So perhaps the answer clued is MACINTOSH or an APPLE STORE.

Besides Columbus Circle, where which subway stations of your interest have
nearby APPLE STORES?

brainistorming the PORT OF CORTLAND
p.s.

Under this theory of it referring to the 5 docks of a Macintosh (including one that is hidden), perhaps the "X" is giving you the letters "OS" given it arose with the OS X.

hmmm

I know this team seems to have dismissed the ticker, but I want to point out one thing.

The ticker leads everyone to Pittsburgh and the Monroeville Mall.

Just for giggles, go google map "Pittsburgh Expo Mart" (which is specifically called out at the end of the directions) and zoom ALLLLLL the way in where the pushpin is (given by the letter "A") , and tell everyone what you see...

Also - please note that there's no such thing as the Rockinson Hotel (also in the directions there at the end)...

(PS hi everybody)

Have we discussed the significance of the number 143?

It is in Mulligan's twitter name.

It is also in one of the user names that scrolls through at the 33 second mark of video three.

143 stands for I Love You.....1 letter in I, 4 letters in Love, and 3 letters in You

Bummer...I thought I was on to something too. Having not let go of my personal Todt Hill bias, I googled 143 Todt Hill and got a site called www.sitreasure.com . You can imagine my excitement, right?? It turns out that there is a 143 Four Corners Road (just South of Todt Hill). The number four, 143, Todt Hill, crows nest, siTREASURE.com........I had already spent that 10K in my head!

"I Love You".........really?!?

Awe....sorry to ruin it for you! If it makes you feel any better I've made it fit into the location where I think the gold is too and I'm probably wrong.

Laughing That's funny!
I wonder why they are giving so many clues to that? One wasn't enough?

The Apple Website has these stores listed as being in NYC
# New York City, Fifth Avenue 767 Fifth Ave. N W R Trains are the closest.
# New York City, SoHo 103 Prince Street W R Trans are the closest.
# New York City, Upper West Side 1981 Broadway 1 Train is the closest.
# New York City, West 14th Street 401 W 14th Street A C E L Trains, but they are a pretty far walk.
# Staten Island, Staten Island 2655 Richmond Ave., Space #2600 NO Trains.

I mapped them, but I don't think any jive with our general thoughts of going to Queens or BK.

I found the same thing when tracing the Monroeville route a few days ago. Nothing came up when searching for the Rockinson Hotel and I thought it really might be something. However, if you ask Google maps for directions from NYC to the Monroeville Mall, you will see they match the ticker and include the Rockinson Hotel/Expo Mart exit. The Expo Mart is actually right next to the Mall and is adjacent to a Radisson Hotel.

It appears the Puppetmasters just copied the misspelled directions from Google Maps.
