The Furry Arms Hotel episode Vlad talks of is no. 3139. My computer is playing up at the moment and I'm having to work from iPhone. Anyone able to see what word that is on the list?

Quick update. I knew Crepuscular was the right word. It just dawned on me that the whole ANSWERSTOGOHERE part of the URL, being in all caps meant that the answer should be in capslock as well, not in lowercase like I was attempting. So. There's a new page for you all;

http://www.theorderofoborot.com/CREPUSCULAR.htm

The door to the castle has the 'thorn' rune in it, the circle looks like it has something to do with astrology (tired and preoccupied or I'd look in to it). The Angelic figure seems to be female, but bald, if that means anything, and it appears to be holding what ever the castle is on (a crude shield design, or what?). The key I assume is a pointer at the image being the key to something.

On another note; I edited my previous posts about a subject I shouldn't have known about yet. The technique I used to get the information I did is being patched up as well Razz

That's the Thurisaz rune - thor's rune, that normally indicates protection. It appears to be leaving the castle.

The angel is a heraldic charge, holding a chivalric shield and key. I'm trying to locate the exact crest this represents.

The background looks like an early map of the solar system, but I may be wrong. -edit- more info on the map image if you scroll down on this site. http://abyss.uoregon.edu/~js/ast123/lectures/lec02.html

It's the opening of a chess game. White does the standard Pawn open. Black moves a Knight.

The image has now vanished for me - perhaps what displays is time specific?

I see a screen saying night and day, and indeed some opening chess moves.
So white queen pawn to um.. two in front of the white queen.
Lefty black knight to uh, in front of the pawn in front of the bishop.
At least I'm not calling them horsies.

Just realised - the popup may well be Jayden's defence stopping us seeing the image. If so, we may need to find a new answer to bypass this. I am guessing that, as the chess opening we're shown is quite unorthodox it will likely have a specific name. Perhaps using that as the answer will break us through?

Edit: in chess notation, this move would be e4 Nf6. There are a few gambits using this but I can't seem to get any further. In particular, the Alekhine defence and Brooklyn variation

Edit 2: O just tweeted this to me:

Quote:
@dagadadagada A problem in your side? The bell, as it were, that is familiar may ring another tongue perhaps, circling history as well...

I imagine "bell" refers to Alexander (Graham Bell) - Alekhine's full name is Alexander Alexandrovich Alekhine. I've tried entering his name in Russian but with no luck. Any ideas?

Vlad has posted a picture of a vectorised angel on top of a heraldic sheild, with something celestial in the background.

Yup - that's the original image that should be on the OoO page but has vanished due to technical problems. I understand we should focus on that image and not the chess.

So, we have the rune of Thor, a Geocentric model of the solar system and a heraldic crest. If we can identify the crest, I think we'll be on our way to seeing how they connect.

On a purely symbolic level, the rune, heraldic castle and angel and shield often stand for protection and guardianship.

Edit - O just tweeted me the phrase "Znajdują gdzieś jeszcze" which, according to the online Polish translator I used means "Somewhere they find else" - or, rather more realistically, "find somewhere else". This is in relation to a couple of places I suggested as having that crest. Looks like a nice indication that I was right about it relating to a place and a clue to where it could be.

Correct, but it's also the crest for Torun in Poland.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toruń?wasRedirected=true

Interestingly, this city was also known as Thorn, as is the rune.

EDIT: Also, Nicolaus Copernicus was born in Torun! Looks like the confirmer. But what language are we looking for?

Got it!!

http://www.theorderofoborot.com/TORUN.htm

We now have a lovely celtic knotwork image, that would appear to be a stylised version of trees with interlocking branches. At the bottom right is the text "Which weapon maketh the world tree" in a fairly gothic script.

A little on the world tree: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_tree

In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil (the world tree) is created out of the giant Ymir's body after he is slain by Odin and his two brothers.

Edit: Just noticed - It may not actually way "World tree" - The l is much lighter in colour. So it may read "which weapon maketh the word tree"

So, I've found the next puzzle after the Word Tree....

http://www.theorderofoborot.com/SPEAR.htm

Spear, of course, being made of wood, and an anagram of Pears.

We now have a question - "Little Johnny Flynn circles around and finds which fishy number?"

Below is the chalice well grail image we've seen before, and a clue to the format of the answer. Also we have strange white "right angle" symbols lurking in two places on the image.

Johnny Flynn seems to be a reference to the poem Ding Dong Bell:

http://www.rhymes.org.uk/ding_dong_bell.htm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ding_Dong_Bell

Sadly, the poem Ding Dong Bell has nothing to do with the legendary Virginia "Ding Dong" Bell.
