New time code on STIES

Not talking about the FILE LIST B4.

I use the "Site:http://www.ETC ..." Search offered by Google every day to check up on updates, and this wasn't there.
(It was back in May, when the B4 File activated the RSCOM8 printout, but was gone since then)

A NEW countdown has begun?

And, I still say it's not normal for the creators to leave this information to be found.

Okay, but the problem remains: unless we can make something out of this 'countup' page, it's not going to be IG and it just backdoor site/serve mechanics. Whether it's "normal" or not really doesn't matter without a definable purpose — it simply *is*.

Without an IG application for the counter, attempting to assign a motive to it is just wheel-spinning.

It may not be relevant to the game, but it does appear to be a timer. I timed it, and it did register 60 additional units after 1 minute. at the time of this writing it is at 1278850795 - doing the math and working backwards, it begins at January 1, 1970 (including leap years) at midnight UTC.

Does this somehow relate to Apple's posting of theatrical release on January 1, 1970?

I am not saying it is something it isn't, but just hoping to identify facts

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time

Unix time, or POSIX time, is a system for describing points in time, defined as the number of seconds elapsed since midnight proleptic Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) of January 1, 1970, not counting leap seconds.

Didn't we already know that?

Morrison,

I was, in a polite manner, asking our newcomer to explain himself, to make sure that he has made his case CLEARLY (before someone pulls a fish out of the hat and slaps him with it).

And there have been numerous times when I have suggested the same thing to others (who I could have "trouted"--but will let someone else engage in assault with a deadly fish).

Clear?

Understood - I guess I am wondering if there is something significant about reference to it in 2 places. This leads me to more questions. I'm not suggesting they are necessarily pertinent (do any of us really know?) - I simply don't know, but maybe others do and will be triggered to something meaningful: Do all web sites have counters like STIES? How long has the counter been in existence? Does this give us clues about STIES' operating system and commands we should use? Does it somehow tie into the fact that HLM posts seem to be in UTC?

Sorry, I didn't really mean anything by my post. I've been told I don't always come across clearly in emails and texting. I try hard to avoid this. Still happens, especially when typing on my iPhone. I'm a very sarcastic person. I was being sarcastic. unFortunately, no one seems to have invented an emoticon that soots this. Wink I'll try not to let it happen again.

I think some of the folks here are very intelligent, though occasionally inpatient, and overall try not to be rude or overly aggressive. This is a game after all. I'm a super noob. But a fast learner. Good looking out for us newcomers.

And though a "trout" may still have been warranted, just not necessary. Glad ya'll took the high road when many don't(not sarcasm).

Green Dots

The green dots as respects how the craigslist posting of the antique horse showed the push pins on the bulletin board were colored that way by the poster to highlight them and a correlation between stars thought to be in the trailer and a constellation.

If that's what you meant about the "green" color, or did you mean in general, gad it been discussed. (yes to this question)

avoid the trout
