[PUZZLE?] Little-boxes colors

After seeing a post in the dina.thenekodas.com thread about some hex color in a picture (#333333), I decided to open my color picker and look at some hex values of colors on other ARG websites...

Something caught my eye. I'm not sure if it's significant, but it really stood out at me. Here are the hex values for each of the "little boxes" next to each menu item ("my life, my work" etc...).

Code:
Biography

My Life     - #993333
My Work     - #CC6600
My hobby    - #CCCC66

Research

Current     - #336633
Archives    - #336699
Submissions - #333366

etc.

Resources   - #663366
Contact     - #333333

I'm no expert on web colors, but these aren't extremely common values, are they?

I still have no idea what these values mean, if they mean anything... I tried converting some of the numbers to decimal, octal, ascii, and some other stuff, but I didn't really see anything significant.

Does anyone see any important patterns or anything? I'll keep looking on other sites for anything like this and post my findings here...

...I suppose it could be a little suspicious that each digit is a multiple of three...although I may be overlooking the obvious.

0 3 6 9 C(12)

Of course, that would allow F as well...

Don't know where we'd go with this, but it's there.

Well, not sure if that's done on purpose, or if it means anything but I have used colors like those on multiple sites. These colors include:

#336699
#6699FF
#336666
#666699

Nice blue/aqua/greyish shades.

[edit] If you look at http://www.after-shock.org/index.php?nav=7&sel=2 you will see that they're not uncommon to be in multiples of 3

But, then again, it might be something significant....you never know.[/edit]

Nothing special here.. By definition, Web Safe colors are created by using the exact same approach outlined here

Notice that they are all using multiples of 3.. I never use any other color on my websites

Just an FYI on the colors: I posted this a couple of weeks ago, but the colors are similar in order to the color spectrum of a rainbow... ROY G. BIV... Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet...

Ah damn it! I just realized that the Indigo color should have been a tip off to Beth's password in her archives! Holy crap! Smart dudes, those PMs...

I remember reading that. We were supposed to get indigo girls from that?! Good call, though

What these numbers mean.

These are hexadecimal values for 256 colors.

# RED GREEN BLUE

0 to FF for each color.

Apparently, we must equate questionable music taste to the color spectrum... Cool

There was a note about her changing the password, if this is the new one I wonder what the old one was.

Did anyone try "indigo" before?

Our "sniffing around" band names for passwords and a change in passwords might not be unrelated Wink
