Don't know if this has been mentioned before; if so Coelacanth me. (Sounds more dignified than merely being trouted, lol!)

REPOST: Estate Sale – Red/Pink Pillbox Hat with Monkey Brooch/Pin
Estate Sale – Cactus Cookie Jar
Estate Sale – White/Green Dress
Estate Sale – Swan Ceramic
Estate Sale – Old Sled

Yet, only this is different:
Estate Sale ? Horse Clock

Why?

And why did Josh decide to post this particular item in two section?

I think there is something regarding the time on the clock (either 11:36:24 or 23:36:24 military time—12 hours apart—which is it? Does it matter?

He notes that the "clock is fully functional."
So there would not be a difficulty with getting the numbers to line up precisely with where you want them.

Does this play into the moon chart? June's or (if there is to be a) July's?

And what of the list in the background of the clock that mentions, in part, a swan?
Looks like a 6, another 6, and a 7?

Ok, so I'm still a bit on the fence to this hook, line and minker thread as to whether it's OOG or not but I did a search on "hooklineandminker" and came across this:

http://meemi.com/hooklineandminker/wf

Now either someone is really having fun with this minker persona or minker is actually IG. That looks totally like the rocket poppeteers moon to me.

Well last night we only had his two messages on this site and as far as a profile, he only had his name listed. Today it's more updated to include his age and a link to his blog. That makes this seem a little too easy.

I could figure this for a good direction if we had the user name hooklineandminker to follow and then had his name listed, but the fact that it's linked back to his blog now makes it seem too amateur to me... I'm thinking OOG.

He also includes an "event" on this site for "Rare Fish" slated for July 9th, 2010 at 00:00 located at RP. Maybe RP is Rocket Poppeteers website. Anyways something to keep an eye on I guess.

I think your on to something with the time on the clock, if its listed as "fully functional" would this mean its working?
If so the item was listed at 10:34pm but the clok says 11:36

and dont get me started on the number 6.....I posted this on the other board

The number 6

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know its probably just a coincidence but the number 6 keeps popping up.

Rocket poppetters- " 6 out of this world flavours"

Craiglist- 6 items for sale, the number 6 on the list on the pin board and 6 drawing pins on the pin board.

Hook,Line and Minker-the month of June ( being the 6th month)

It could just be a J.J thing as Slusho had 6 flavours and remember "you cant drink just 6"

So is it generally considered poor form/against the general nature of the game to try and access the email account with obvious passwords like "coelacanth" and stuff?

I know that with a lot of games that's sort of "poor form," but is this any different? Someone enlighten me.

You beat me to it!

Also interesting that this calendar is based on the Northern Hemisphere
but can't figure out what the times mean.

Didn't notice anything else updated on the page ... yet anyway.

Peak Fishing Times

Howdy all. If anyone managed to save the HLM June calendar before the change, would you mind posting? Thanks and I'll sing a bit for my supper.

I was looking into the calendar because I thought there might be some connection between the moon phases and posting dates. Couldn't find anything on that, but I did find some moon phase calendars with peak fishing times listed.

http://www.lake-link.com/moon/
http://www.rodnreel.com/astrotables/astrotable.asp

Odd that they don't match the HLM calendar (or each other). Probably the whole fish/moon thing is a bunch of hoohah, but since I couldn't find a source for the times on the Minker calendar, I wonder if they're just made up or if they do have some kind of purpose.

Is it just me, or does the gradient background on these calendars seem to "highlight" a specific week to anyone else?

the 3 reasons why I don't believe Minker to be IG

At first I thought CL and all was a cool find. But I was also sceptical. More and more guests and rare posters (and... you know...) joined in on those threads and it was strange from the beginning on...
Here are my 3 thoughts why Minker is not part of the game:

The photos: The tail of the monkey in our original photo points away from the slip-knot at thte hat. The one on the CL photo points towards it. There's no way of flipping the image to achieve this. And as Minker says it's a brooch or pin so it can't be attached "the other way around" either.

The dates: He waits almost one and a half months between posting about "authentication" on ATS and replying to the Other One "I have the damn thing"? (See theBruce's Wiki for the time frame.) Doesn't sound logic to me. Not at all. With something strange/important as that I would be very eager to find out what it is.

The shrooms: I may be wrong here but it is my common sense that this ARG is not played by adults only. There are also kids and young adolescents involved, as is my guess. Do you think the PR company would include an individual linking to a drug-related site? In my opinion it would be a little unresponsible and may fetch law enforcement by caring parents (at least in the US Wink ).

A minor fourth reason is we have not heard back from Josh since he has been contacted a few days ago. I don't want to be him, anyways. Just lost his mum and now this... Well, I just hope he's not too angry.

He didn't put it in words but you can tell from what we found out. Although, in my opinion, it was not our business. Again, see the Super8Wiki.

^^^ The monkey pin placement looks to me to be an oversight of a PM. If you look closely, the monkey pin is 'shopped on, not an actual pin, and it looks to me like a lazy PM forgot to flip the monkey when they flipped the reflection of the hat.

Furthermore, if it was a gamejack, putting an 800 number together sure is a lot of effort. Though I see your point, and agree that it does seem a little off beat so far, and still has the potential to be gamejack.
