GJ or not

Tenshi Akui, I apologize if I misunderstood you (which I no doubt did) regarding the photo.

I thought, I suppose that you (and/or others) were stating that the photo was bogus, and/or was possibly that of a dude!?!

My referencing the Nova site was just to illustrate that the photo was real, and related to our new favorite fish, and was not a photo of a dude.

Shroomery post I believe is GJ, but the youtube and memii (?) posts--think the jury is still out.

Re: GJ or not

Xeno Lambrose No need to apologize Smile I wasn't the original to state the photo was a GJ but was explaining my reasons as to why I believe youtube and meemi is. Smile

But then again I always thought the picture was a chick anyways. A very masculine one but one none the less LOL

I emailed on the listing as well when I found it, asking for some more information about the "history" but like everyone else, I got no response.

Why does everyone call the monkey a brooch? That monkey looks sown into the hat to me. Maybe I don't know what a brooch is.

Because thats how its listed on CL..

Interesting to note that he says "Lots history here but I dont have time to get it appraised....."

Anyone emailed him asking about the 'history' of this hat?

With Josh's last post on his site being June 10th, and with the find of the possible IG YouTube footage, I wonder if that means Mr. Minker either met some kind of fate or is on the run.

MyDarkSide, I've wondered the same thing.

Has anyone else wondered about this:

Let's look at our characters:
Possible protagonist(s):
Evelynn Minker RIP
Josh Minker--whereabouts unknown
Morris? (and since we have DAC, Mass. could he likewise be "Mr. Wilson" from Boston?)

Any good story has an antagonist(s).
Possible antagonist(s):
Morris?

And even though this is an ARG, to resemble accurately the real world, wouldn't there be someone involved in one of the alphabet agencies, that would be monitoring the ATS site (among others) for any "sniff" that someone might know something about the 1979 incident, and would subsequentlly be trying to monitor, locate, and contain any pertinent info?

I didn't follow the Cloverfield ARG, but were there antagonist(s) in that one?

Lastly, we're coming up on a pretty famous date, UFO-wise, with Roswell, in July of '47. And 2010 - 1963 = 47

noticed something

I just finished re reading his journal, and I realized everyone he has "spoken to" clam up. First Shelly, Then Mr. Wilson (who is still unaccounted for), and lately this fisherman who had a "brush w/the law". seems fishy...

another thing...

(srry for double post)

also, the dress debacle could be simple. designers found the dress that looks closest to the one in the original b&w photo. (unless its been decided GJ, in which shame on them :p)

also, sorry for just jumping in, some of you know i try to follow, but life generally has other plans for me.... hey, anyone want a basis for a millenial greek tragedy?

ps: anyone know why my account wont show the normal reply screen?

Weird coincidence that GeniferB said this about the hat on the "new print out" thread back on 6/22 (well before 333 pointed out the craiglist posting on 6/28 ):

Quote:
Looks like maybe somebody bought a box of unknown stuff at an estate sale or something? Looking into the hat more.

Not accusing anyone of anything at all, but that is pretty weirdly coincidental saying the exact words "estate sale"!

GeniferB, you are psychic, I think!

Edit: Just to add so really no one thinks I'm accusing, I don't think there's any way someone could have gotten the hat folds to match like that. I consider the CL stuff IG.

Another monkey link

I was trying to search for some info on Josh Minker on my phone when I noticed that it tries to auto-correct the word Minker to the word Monkey. I guess I hadn't noticed that there were only two letters difference.

what does the Coelacanth represent?

I've voiced my feelings and reasons for feeling that Josh isn't/wasn't really looking for a Coelacanth in prior postings.

This led me back to the Nova site dealing with letters exchanged by fish experts Latimer and Smith in 1938/39 about the discovery of the Coelacanth. Here is the link:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/fish/letters.html
Latimer had initially sent a sketch and description to Smith.

Smith's last (I believe) letter to Latimer says, in part:
"Many thanks for your letter and for the parcel of three scales. They leave little doubt about the nature of the fish, but even so my mind still refuses to grasp this tremendous impossibility. The discovery is going to be a real zoological sensation…"

So, what did the parts, the sketch, and description represent to Smith? That something once thought extinct was alive.

What could the Josh's quest for the Coelacanth represent?

Possibly that he is looking for confirmation that what he saw in the Super 8 film is still alive. I mean, think about it, you've watched something quite unbelievable on film from some time back. Wouldn't you want to know if the thing still existed? And is it a threat, or not!

Just my thoughts.
