Way to take a closer look for clues! Have you tried scanning it with a bar code reader?

I might be wrong, but the red bar code -might- just be printed on all mail as part of the way the USPS electro-mechanically sorts mail. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

I'm looking for various code scanners for my wife's iphone, though it's slow going. If I come up with anything I'll make notice of it Very Happy

it's not a barcode, i promise

i thought that too at first but there is a mail barcode printed on the other side already

OK, cool, thanks for checking. Very Happy

Our mail carrier just finished up with our box, I'm about to go check and see if I got a postcard as well. Pretty stoked!

well it may be some sort of barcode for the post office (i dont think so though there is one on the back and this is a different style) but if so then it would be a very specialised one, it's very long and loosely spaced, on the black postcards it's almost invisible as well.

Looking at madopal's numbers:

6x105 = 630 squares
95 filled in the first 4 cards of 12 (very little over lapping)
if the next 8 cards fill in 190 more
that will be 285 of 630 filled.
Might look more like a dot data matrix than letters or numbers. Sad

Clue to the order of the postcards
(if there is an order)

I'm looking at the images of the postcards again, and I noticed the dates of the game releases are on some of them, but not all of them. Could that be a clue (assuming they aren't overlayed; I'm not convinced they are yet) to some kind of order to put them in to find a message?

Something else the boxes remind me of ...

... are of rows of DIP switches, like on the back of an external analog modem.

Frequency count?
Has anyone done one?

Has anyone done a frequency count on their postcard? Like how many times a square appears in a certain position on the strip. Say x (up and down) and y (over the length of the strip)?

Judging from this idea, I'd say ViceSquad should be first, then KrazBot, then either AstroGunner or ArcWars.

"Now playing at your local arcade"
Can't get that phrase out of my head ...

... and now I'm curious.

Does anyone who has received a postcard have an arcade nearby? If so, care to stop by and see if any new games have arrived?
