Digital encoding on compact magentic cassettes, DAT tapes ..
... credit cards

Has anyone tried running this black stripe through a card reader?

There has to be SOMETHING we're missing, guys! Has anyone tried rearranging the dots to the order of dates on the back of the cards from latest to earliest?

Oh, my GOD, YOU ARE A GENIUS! Surprised Guys, if this is correct, then the codes don't form a message: THEY'RE TO BE SCANNED!!!

I won't claim to be a genius (or anything close), but thanks for the compliment. Very Happy It just occurred to me while I was brainstorming, that's all.

Since I don't have one in my hot little hands, y'all have at it.

And for frak's sake, if you are going to Comic-Con, take your postcard with you. I'm betting you will need it if I am right!

The fact there are four post cards is curious. Since a numerical web address has four sections (192.168.1.0 for example) could it be possible that each card decodes into a section of a web address?

I'm keeping a weather eye on it. I'm hoping that a certain Mr. Takk will post to the discussion forums there within the next 24 hours or so.

I don't know if anyone else has said this yet, as I'm still slowly going through the thread, but I just got my postcard today and I'm all the way in New York. Mine is Vice Squad, so there's really nothing new to report other than yes, people on the East coast do/will get their postcards.

Following up on my previous post, perhaps the cards each contain a segment of GPS coordinates. I recall correctly, 42 E did this for The Dark Knight at comic con a few years back by posting a site with a countdown clock and GPS coordinates. What other codes/addresses have four segments?

I took pictures of all of the recognizable signs in Flynn's Arcade from 1982 ("Tron").

Astro Gunner, Digitizer, Vice Squad, Code Wars, Intruder and Matrix Blaster all must be from 1982 or earlier, so it makes since that Kraz-Bot would be 1983...thus making Arc Wars '83 or later as well.
