@phylos and distraction:
mine was the arc wars...

yeah apparently the splatter i see isn't a type of hidden font but rather it was ink that leaks from the paper surface to adhesive slab behind it... (and turns out that was quite normal if you print with high quality setup to an adhesive paper) T.T

Well I was trying my best to fit the Combo grid of all the cards to the convention floor layout. But I'm running into the same problem that makes me think it isn't a map. Namely the fact that they don't line up; not only is the convention center floor got that angle in it, but it's much thicker then the pattern. Honestly I don't think it's a map overlay of the convention. Too many things about the idea are not exact enough.

Which is why the ENCOM GAME SECTOR message has to be the answer. On the other hand, I'm surprised the FL website hasn't said anything about this.... Confused

I got a feeling, the FL website will be updated this Wednesday? If not, I think I'll go insane with anticipation! Shocked

My .02

Encom will have some sort of presence at ComicCon or somewhere in SD during the convention. Encom Game Sector might refer to a location where you swipe your postcard, which will allow access to play one of the games that is on the postcards.

Then again.... I could be REALLY off base LOL

NEW POSTCARD

I just got my 2nd Tron game/FL postcard: it's for D-Con4 and a sticker on it confirms: "Don't miss Flynn's Arcade 7/22-24", which seems to imply these postcards codes may be scanned (or such) at Comic-Con to yield new FL game clues.

And yes, there is another strip with blacklight dot codes on this card. Working on scans of the card now, will upload very soon.

I don't have a real blacklight that can pick up the dots enough to photograph, but I'll work on that too.

ADDING the game description for searching purposes:

D-Con4 - The dimensions of good and evil have never been so clearly defined. It is your mission to defend humankind from an onslaught of lasers, raining down on our home planet with venomous accuracy. Are you prepared?

Though it's obvious, I forgot to mention they didn't use stamps this time, but digital postage — so no postmark date this time.

I live in SoCal quite close to Pasadena (home of 42 Entertainment), so I would assume this card was sent Friday to arrive today. My previous card took 1 biz day to arrive after the Jun 29 postmark date.

I'd also guess that some international cards may have been sent earlier last week, since I recall some of our UK/Euro players had postmarks of Jun 23 or so on last card.

about friggin time!! Very Happy I wonder what other games will be featured on this round of postcards. kinda wish they'd do a TRON postcard, though that would make it a major want for everyone. can't wait to get back in the hunt for the second half of this promotion.

Okay, I have to run out and buy a real blacklight now... But I can see there are a LOT more dots on this code strip on the new card than there were on my Arc Wars card. Probably 2x-3x as many dots this time.

If there are to be four more cards in this new wave, this suddenly raises a lot of doubt in my mind that we are supposed to overlap ALL the dot patters from all eight (supposed) cards. At the rate of dots on this one new card alone, I think all the points in the dot matrix (i.e. ENCOMGAMESECTOR or whatever) would be filled in. There wouldnt' be any blank spaces left to make readable letters.

Again, just speculating due to the many dots on this code strip. I wouldn't be surprised if four new cards yielded an entirely new phrase/code message.

Ok, going to get a light to try to photograph the new strip for you to see what I'm talking about. Have at it, gang!

Maybe there's only five cards. Guess we'll see!
