Multipsych as you've twice flashed the fish without sinking the link, you get a big fat serving:

As konamouse said, you don't serve the trout raw - it must be properly cooked .
Mmmmm... Sushi!

To check the messages they've left for you, you would call a voicemail number (or call your own number) and enter your mailbox number and password. This allows you to listen, delete and manage your messages.
So correct me if I'm mistaken (given earlier reservations)-This would be very much in game to crack the code, as we are as sure as we can be that the "Evelyn Minker Memorial Fund" is also game, and the messages contained could well be relevant.

So the race is on: What is the voicemail password and what will we find?

I would say probably not for the following reasons:
* Josh didn't say press 1 to leave a message himself. He asked us to get in contact with him or other family members.
* Sometimes a default system message will start after the user's greeting has finished saying "press 1 to leave a message." This also wasn't stated, the call just ends.
* The only benefit to listening to these messages would be to hear what other people are calling Josh about. If any of Josh's relatives called this number, i don't think they'd leave a message - they'd call Josh directly. You don't want to hear the pranked recordings - well, maybe they can put that on the DVD Extras ^_~
I think there is more to the message than we're paying attention to. We have to figure out who these other characters are in the game and see where Evelyn liked to donate her money/clothes/Super 8 film... etc.

just a Thought to ponder Everyone keeps thinking it is Josh on the recording... I do not know that it says Contact Josh, that is all. It could be someone else making the recording.

You've got a point there.

given, most automated call answering services offer a "Press 1" service as standard, the message would need to indicate whether or not we should press 1/2/3 etc... if not it is unlikely they are activated - apart from to allow the owner to edit or change the voice message.
I have a question, did we decide if the youtube vid was in game or not???

I don't think the fact that it says "Contact Josh" means it's not Josh on the recording... everyone refers to themselves in the third person on their voicemail greeting.
"Hi, you've reached <<your>>, I can't get to the phone right now, etc."
Also, YouTube has been generally considered OOG/GJ for a while.

Has anyone tried tying this to the audio file we download from the pmp?
Maybe if you put some sort of number value to the notes it will be the password to this. I know it sounds a little stretched but it could be.
The only problem is most of the notes are sharps(#) or flats(b) which means it is in between notes (in case you didn't know.) Other problem is each sharp is also the same as another flat. An A raised up a half step would be an A# or a Bb because it is also a half step less than a B.
Here they are.
C#/Db 1st note
F#/Gb 2nd note
C#/Db 3rd note
G#/Ab 4th note
C 5th note
D#/Eb 6th note
D#/Eb 7th note
A#/Bb - Not sure about last note. Hard to hear because it changes
pitch drastically.

I'm not 100% if this is what your going on about but if you mean the audio file from scariestthingieversaw.com then its been talked about alot, its the golden ratio, so trouted.

[TROUT] Seriously? Is the search function that hard to use?
I used the search function for the terms "minker 800 number" and it led me to this page of results, linking to MULTIPLE threads with MULTIPLE posts about it:
http://bit.ly/chQnl6
ADDITIONALLY, there are multiple sources that would explain its origin independently, like Super8News.com or super8.wikibruce.com, the latter of which has a full timeline to get caught up.
I'm all about new people getting involved, it's how I got involved with Cloverfield, but the trouting here is getting ridiculous. Maybe it's time to disable guest posting, mods.
And now for the fishy part.
