Apeture and Black Mesa are rivals, am I straying too far?
I wouldn't necessarily call them rivals, or at least there's no indication to that effect.
Black Mesa was pretty much destroyed and decomissioned after the "incident"; I don't know if the events we are witnessing are before or after the resonance cascade. It somehow feels that we're seeing events before.

Some hot chick called Olivia from that science place came over to talk to Mom at the house yesterday. I overheard her talking about the nearby research centre and animal testing or some hippy shit equally as boring, she told Mom to go by the name 'George Antheil' if she ever wanted to get hold of her.
Like seriously WTF is the deal with this Blλck Mesa place not letting their staff talk to people. I bet they have some sort of Area 51, Roswell, X-file thing going on in there...
...No seriously as if anything around here would ever be that interesting. It's probably just some boring story Mom is working on.
ETA that I'm emailing Olivia Wilkins.
Also if you take a look at this it's got some interesting stuff. http://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?t=6056
ETA Again:
Got a reply from Olivia after applying to the site with her name as a reference.

Feel free to trout me, it sounds like this might've been found already. The binary doesn't decode to anything though. Maybe it has to be linked to other transmissions?
Also- Alena = Aperture Laboratories Encryption Negation Application
I also got a PDF from her. http://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/forms/EmploymentApplicationForm.pdf
They want my Social Security Number, apparently. O_O
ETA again: Got an automated reply when I asked her why I'm not allowed to have contact with Aperture Laboratories.

Hi, I am currently out of the office at the moment.
But please feel free to leave a message with the Sector D communications staff who will make sure your correspondence is promptly addressed.
Thank you,
Olivia Wilkins
Gonna go figure out how to contact the Sector D communications staff.

Ya think?
I'm not fluent in Morse code so I'll leave that to Toasty to decode, or whoever else wants to go for it.

So I isolated the morse code.
I got nothing. I've tried six different translators. All I can get is that the beginning says SOS.
Feel free to try to make sense of it.

Fairly certain that's the same site as aperturescience.com, which has been there since the release of the first Portal.
Got a new email from Black Mesa.
Quote:
Mr Antheil,
As a potential employee of Black Mesa we expect a certain level of "commercial confidence" to be upheld. We are in direct completion with Aperture Laboratories, as I'm sure you are aware, and deem communication with them or their representatives to be a breach of contract.
Olivia has been dismissed due to misconduct and misuse of Black Mesa resources. We are monitoring her emails and will pass on any personal messages when we have an adequate idea of her whereabouts.
Have a safe and productive day.
Sector D - Communications Staff
Looks like she took something from the facilities and fled.
I wrote back,
Quote:
Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that Olivia is gone. She seemed like a very nice woman when I talked to her-- certainly not the type to run away from a job, which is what it sounds like she has done.
I've completed my application form. Is there a place I should send it to? Olivia didn't specify.

I just posted that a while ago.
aperturelaboratories.com is not an IG site. It is the same site as aperturescience.com, which has been up since the release of Portal.
THIS IS NOT AN IN-GAME SITE.

Daisy Bell If you look up the document from the ALENA prompt, you'll find that its from the http://aperturescience.com website. The password for the prompt is:

cheesecake
I still can't do anything past that.
Actually, it affects the http://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/fsrag/ page.
If you have fsrag open, then run ALENA, it logs you in. Don't know what data to upload yet.
Also, after it kicks you out, you have to refresh the page before using ALENA again, or else it won't work.
