I don't know what it was... it seemed to be growling though and it had paws so it was most likely a wolf or something. But when we started being chased by it we noticed it was in front of a hole or something. Tomorrow we are going back to the hole

I would deeply advise against going back to the hole. If it was a wolf it could get overprotective and attack.
