This is a good reason to swear.

Sorry, sarcasm doesn't often suit me.

MH2 is gonna be a while...eh, I figured as much. I'm fine with it, if they're working on making it better, aye?

I'm probably deluding myself in to thinking they're dropping clues in these interviews, but it sounded to me like they where alluding to The Operator being directly involved with the apartment fire.

I really hope we don't have to wait until 2012 Crying or Very sad

They haven't even begun part 2? FFFFFFUUUUUU--

About the fire: that's part of the original Slenderman stories on SomethingAwful. Several of the first images of SM were him lurking around burned-out buildings etc. So I'd always assumed SM was related to/the cause of Jay's apartment fire.

Well, we still have TribeTwelve, EverymanHYBRID, and the numerous blogs to keep our minds ripe till the MarbleHornets sequel.

Disappointing, but I'm glad they're honest and taking their time with it. And completely understandable. This is just a side project they're doing for fun. I can't just demand Part 2 (as much as I want to Wink ).

Also they may proclaim themselves as not being witty, but that was actually pretty funny. Ahhhh, editing. What can't you do.

Also, I can't believe Joseph is one of those people who reads the ending first! Troy has my full support on this one Razz

You know, I'm with Joseph on this one, kind of. You read the first and last sentence of the book and you get a pretty good framework for everything, without necessarily spoiling everything (sometimes)! It does help cut down the number of books you buy... I've wasted way too much money in all kinds of bookstores looking for decent reads that turned out to be tripe. Laughing

And ooh, second interview! I am excite to watch it! (Even though the comments make it sound like MH is going to take a long time. I always guessed that their break'd be about a year, if not just over the summer. Not surprised to hear that it's going to be a while!)

eta: Man, I think I get where Joseph's coming from with the "ooh certain entries gave us the shiveries!" chatter... though I think the best part about MH1 was that... yeah, some of the entries were not as exciting or shock-inducing as, say #18 or #23 or ###### (and of course #26... totally the best of them all, combining TTA-style artfilms, Jay's self-filming and addressing an outside audience, AND Slendy biatch-slapping Alex+one!), but there was definitely a sense of pacing, and some of those less exciting entries gave us a breather!

I think that finding a way to balance the "ooh, that's a fecking good idea!" entries + breather entries + time between entries in real life is the best way to go about things. Not every entry needs to be a stunner, but at least in MH1 each entry moved things forward a little and that was awesome. Smile (Okay... so not forward, so much as around in confusing and terrifying little circles. But that was awesome anyways!) So... once you've got the basic idea of the story and have started to divide it into chunks, keep doing what you're doing with including a little bit of new info in the breather entries, or build them up towards another crescendo.

I dunno, I don't think that they're giving themselves enough credit for what they pulled off as a whole. The time between posts got difficult to bear when they were two, three, four weeks apart, but that's the only thing I'd really complain about. Not to bloat any internet egos or anything... XD There are nit-picky things that I'd say, yeah, it's a good thing to worry at, but the fact that they're at the nit-picky stage and not at the glaringly-obvious-problem one is a serious achievement in and of itself.

TL;DR: yay, get back to work, you're doing jawesome so don't be hatin' 'pon yoself!

I'm with Dray; if every entry was a stunning thriller, there wouldn't be much variation in the emotions the audience went through. That being said, that doesn't mean that breather episodes can't have little spooks or tidbits to make the audience jump when they notice them. Like Slender Man being in the next window over in Entry 11. It's just a matter of finding a ballance that you as the creator are happy with and keeps the fans going through a state of emotions.

STUFF EXTRAVAGANZAAAAAAA GET!

Before watching, I was disappointed that it wasn't horrible Slenderman fanfiction (though I suppose there isn't much to sift through, is there?) but that was pretty awesome. XD I was in stitches for most of it. Loved the tiny dog appearances!
