[Trailhead]- They're Here 10.10.10 Possible new ARG Hey all,
I am fairly new to this ARG stuff, so please be gentle.
I did a search here and didnt find anything posted yet.
Movieviral.com just posted this story
http://www.movieviral.com/2010/09/02/viral-site-found-for-possible-alien-invasion-film/
if you go to http://www.theyrehere.net/index.php it shows a countdown and a date of 10.10.10. You can enter your email address to be added to the list.
What piques my curiosity is the "alien language" on the site appears to be Arubesh. Which is a language from Star Wars. The top line under the date appears to say "time waits for no one".
There is a small paragraph at the bottom that is also in Arubesh. But its so small I cant make out the char. Im not too sure how to blow it up or zoom in on it.
any thoughts?

The paragraph looks like movie information.
The usual 'Starring BOB DOBBS and JOE WILSON a JOHN DOE PRODUCTION' etc, at least from the formatting of it.
Way too small to translate, at least for my eyes.

I agree on the Arubesh. I've tried working it out, and here's what I have so far (attached)
From that I got this:
"After there is great trouble among mankind, a greater one is prepared. The great mover of the universe will renew time, rain, blood, thirst, famine, steel weapons and disease. In the heavens, a fire seen."
Which is a Nostradamus quote...
ETA: The "cipher" is only the Nostradamus quote up to the 3rd last "word" on the 2nd line.

You have better eyes than I.

Got more of it:
"A horrible war is being prepared in the west. The following year the
pestilence will come, So very horrible that young nor old nor animal will survive, Blood, fire, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter in France."
I'm cleaning up an image translation so stand by....
ETA: omg that's funny... "Bring a blanket"... Hold on....
ETA2: OK, this is a work in progress, but I had to share...
ETA3: Almost done. Just need the last line...

wow, i couldnt translate that at all. you have either very good eyes, or a good technique for cleaning up the text.
question is, if this is a legit arg, why would they use star wars fonts? wonder if its fan made?

It was a lot of guessing and googling, really. I'm giving up on the last line. Its something like "the --- the d--- in the d--ast".

Perhaps some good news.
Caleb Downs and Kev J over at FirstShowing.net have pointed out an alien abduction film called A70.

While I don't want to say this is the definitive answer, my magic 8 ball seems to think they are connected.

I don't know....probably a long shot or red herring but something about "They're Here" and the name "Paul T. Geist" makes me think of the movie Poltergeist. There is a remake coming soon, supposedly on November 24th. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=57992
Not sure how the UFO footage is related, though or for that matter London. Just throwing it out there.

Doing some looking around I noted that there were Star Wars figures in the movie. One person even stated that Spielberg was paying homage to his friend, Lucas.
Quote:
In (Poltergeist), several Kenner Star Wars toys are visible. So are some Star Wars posters. Given Spielberg's motto in other films to incorporate Star Wars nods, did Spielberg actually pay to purchase these toys and posters or were they furnished by Lucasfilm?"
Could just be another one of those "nods".
