[OT] San Diego Comic-Con Hookups
Helping you get your swag!

I've started posting these to other boards I'm on... so this place is as good as any to continue the trend.

I'm going to San Diego Comic-Con 2010 (for all 4 days!), and I'm willing to help folks out that are seeking particular pieces of loot. Thus far, there's nothing that's particularly grabbing my attention (though I will need to go through at least the Hasbro line), but I'm willing to find things for others, time permitting!

So here are the rules:

1. CONTACT ME VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE. Not in this thread. Not via e-mail, if you have it. PMs and only PMs will be considered.
2. Convention Exclusives only, please. If it's something you could buy in a store, or something you've been looking for and hope I might find it, you're on your own.
3. I need the specific information on what you want... item, any notable details about it, booth number if possible.
4. Payment before the con is not expressly required, but strongly suggested. I work harder to get your loot if I've already got your money Very Happy Contact me via PM for more contact information.
5. After the con, I'll package everything up and get a final price for you, including shipping. You pay before the box leaves. Insurance, tracking, and other add-ons are done at your expense, by your preference.
6. NO GUARANTEES! Convention Exclusives are, by their very nature, typically hard to get. I'll do my best to get you what you're looking for, but I can't promise I'll be able to. If you have sent me any funds, I'll return them to you as soon as the con is over (or I find out that supplies are gone). I'll try to keep you appraised as the con goes on.

I encourage any other con-goers who're interested in helping out fellow programs to post in this thread, as well... and if anyone is looking for loot, and hasn't found someone to help acquire it, post here and someone might be able to hook you up!

Would you be able to get like stuff given out at the actual booths like posters, t-shirts, ect? And if so, do the same rules apply for shipping since you wouldn't actually have to buy that stuff?

The authoritative listing for exclusives can be found at the Comic-Con page itself: http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci_exclusives.php.

Theoretically, yes, I could go for those too... the problem is, it's hard to know what is going to be where, since those are usually NOT advertised. Shipping costs would, of course, apply, though you obviously wouldn't have to pay for the items themselves. That said, since I'm not getting any advance payment, I'm not nearly as motivated to wade through huge crowds just to get one 11x17 poster that's probably already creased by the time I finally grab it. Wink

And on a side note, I will certainly *try* to pick up any extra FL loot they have available, but no promises... if supplies are tight, I can't justify grabbing more than my share. Smile

The authoritative listing for exclusives can be found at the Comic-Con page itself: http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci_exclusives.php.

According to the Disney Consumer Products link on that page, Disney will be offering a TRON Legacy Die-Cast Light Cycle for $5.00 (700 available per day) and a TRON Vintage Figure for $40.00 (350 available per day).

I'd love it if someone could grab an extra Medium size Flynn Lives shirt. I registered yesterday (been reading the board since the game began), but my account still isn't activated. It's this nickname minus the 1.

Those Flynn Lives shirts are pure so gold so no promise's but I can try. Also they may be handing things out to the people going into the hall H panel for Tron.

To whom can I Paypal $40 + shipping in exchange for a best effort try for a Vintage Figure?

There's also a nifty-looking art print from Acme Archives Limited... "Recognizer Arrival" is limited to 82 pieces (wonder why they chose that number... Wink ), costs $79, 11x17 paper size. Looks like fine art print quality, so the price isn't too crazy... and it's Tron related, so, yeah.

Heh. I suppose "additional" would have been a better word.

Anyway, I still haven't had my account activated so if someone wants to pick up a medium t-shirt feel free to shoot me an e-mail at kylewalkSPLATumich.edu

Gotta say... the guys (and gals?) willing to help out us less fortunate folks have got to be some of the coolest cats (and kittens?) I've ever come across on the nets. This is without a doubt one of the best fan communities online.

So... You're saying, "Highest bidder"?
I don't want to get caught up in all of that. If that means I lose out... well whatever...
