Hey folks, please note... I've been getting a lot of requests along the lines of, "Hey, if you could snag me an extra (insert ARG loot item), I'd really appreciate it!" The thing is, the nature of these events makes it pretty tough to get more than your share of loot. Don't get me wrong, I'll try... but really, the thread should be about people trying to help non-attendees get the exclusives for sale at the convention, not obtaining freebies over and above what they've already gotten.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to try and hook up as many people as I can! Just... please don't have too many expectations for freebies. Smile

You've been encouraging people to find you there that are also attending. If all of those able to attend could combine efforts, and you could coordinate them, maybe the chances for those of us that can't attend will be better.

Of course, maybe 42E already has plans to help share the love.
*cough cough*

Got it... and so far, replied to everyone asking for convention exclusives. I'll do my best on those, folks! As for people asking for ARG loot... again, I'll try my best, but those could be a lot harder to come by, particularly because I'm the kind of guy who rarely goes back for seconds on things like that. I'll do what I can, though... as many t-shirts/posters/tokens/etc that I can get my hands on.

Since I'm going to be leaving for the Con shortly, I probably won't get any new messages from anyone until late late late tonight.

If anyone could hook me up with a medium sized T-shirt, I'd be eternally grateful (and obviously willing to pay shipping etc), assuming they're being given out at this event.

Sorry to keep banging on about it, but I get the impression that any cross-Atlantic events are gonna be handing out XL shirts, and I'm just not that big...

Hoping this thread doesn't slide to the bottom as some of us have paid for our items in advance and have yet to get any updates.

It's been very frustrating at the con so far... the Disney line has been poorly managed at times. This morning, the line was full and capped... BEFORE attendees had a chance to enter the exhibit hall floor (which means exhibitors filled the line first). They say that tomorrow, they won't allow anyone in the line until 9am, which should help, but that still means exhibitors can lurk until they open the line, then swarm.

They are also limiting things, strictly, to one per person of each item. So far, I've managed to get one lightcycle, out of the three that I've been asked for. I'm going to TRY and get some fellow con-goers to wait in line with me and let me pay for them, but it's looking doubtful that I'll get any more of those. As for the vintage figure... I'm workin' on it. (I did get your Transformers, Rusty, so at least there's that.)

As for ARG stuff, I do have the stuff from the Thursday Night event: my identity disc with USB drive, one bracelet with a used code, one set of tokens with coin pouch, and one poster, but I don't think any of those will be available for distribution at the moment. I did grab a stack of code-coasters, which I'll be happy to mail out to interested parties (AFTER THE CONVENTION PLEASE DON'T PM ME NOW).

Gonna head to bed soon, because this con is REALLY wearing me out...

Wasn't trying to sound like I was doubting. Just wanted to touch base. Smile

This kind of behavior on the part of the con organizers in relation to the one per allotment was EXACTLY the thing I was worried about and had voiced concerns on over at Tron-Sector. I KNEW this would ultimately end up benefiting the exhibitors and leave the fans out in the cold. I've heard nothing but horror stories as far as the line organization goes and heard that some folks even slip cash to the security guys running the lines to get themselves in and out. If this is true, it wouldn't surprise me if the security guys start to expect this kind of thing. Sounds ugly, but nothing surprises me anymore. Especially when you look at ebay and what these things are going for.

Hmmm. That doesn't sit right with me even though I do have a friend who's a dealer attempting to get me the figures. (As a return favor for always working his Cons for free over the years.) But I assure you, you WON'T be seeing mine on eBay anytime soon. I plan to OPEN THE PACKAGES! *GASP!* and PLAY with them!

I think that the "One per person" on the Arcade stuff is now well known, and I realize you won't be able to get me any. I'M OK with that! Just have as much fun as you can, and get what YOU want and maybe the other non Tron stuff for others, but don't sweat it on things you just can't accomplish. If people can't see that, and understand, well, they're tossers.

You made this GENEROUS offer hoping that the stuff would be easier to get but that's not the case, as we know now. I thank you for the updates and the effort. Enjoy the show!

Ok... I've managed to get through the arcade another time, and I do have ONE extra set of tokens! To try and get as many people hooked up as possible, I was thinking about splitting up the set of seven (and perhaps the coin pouch thing, too), and distributing them that way. It's not much, but it is a piece of Comic-Con that I can send out your way... more details on that after the con, because my mind still isn't operating at peak efficiency...

Still trying on that Tron figure... the line's KILLIN' me.
