Nothing from today so far (8/31), but here is the last from 8/30:

Quote:
Question received 08/30/2010:DrKra: How can we gain Access Level Orange?
Response:Access Level Clearance is supplied only to approved personnel for technical or military purposes. I am authorized to provide Access Level Clearance in emergency circumstances if certain conditions are met:
1) Clearance for User is necessary to meet objectives. 2) User does not present a known threat. 3) User is trusted to fulfill objectives.

Sorry about that Sad Mostly I'm just happy I was apparently able to contribute something useful Razz

Actually, to that end: I'm new to this ARG in just the past few days. I've read over this thread and the one in the Darkspore forums. Am I missing anything else that I ought to read in order to be caught up?

Well if you've read everything then you probably aren't missing anything. Several puzzles were solved, unveiling at Comic con, now taking on ARG aspects with character interaction.

To that last point, I am wondering if we're to supposed to ask specific questions in order to advance the game or if the PMs are using this time to expand on the storyline while stalling a bit. The game won't come out for several more months.

I'm going to go with the first and start asking some more specific questions in hopes that the game will start advancing again but I sort of have a feeling that we're just in backstory mode right now.

shortly after my post I asked if we have met the conditions, but got "Channel query: offline". I just got it again.

Yesterday's question, the most recent one as of a couple minutes ago:

Quote:
Question received 08/31/2010:

shivayam: where are you located?

Response:

In your coordinates I am approximately at 12 29 08 00.

I tried plugging those numbers in as latitude/longitude on Google Maps, and it gave me a point somewhere in extremely northern Nigeria, not near much of anything. Switching them around yields what looks like a huge fire in the Faro Reserve in northeastern Cameroon. I'm fairly certain that's not what the coordinates are referring to, but I've no better guesses at the moment.

I tried that in the coords for our universe. It might be a typo or I might be very wrong.

M49 12 29.8 +08 00

is in The Virgo Cluster. M49 is "our name for the galaxy (or NGC 4472)

Couldn't find anything that fits the 12 29 08 00 thing.

whoa, it does appear to be deleted. what's up with that?

You can still find it when you search for "ARG" but the link leads to "this thread does not exist".

I had the same problem. It seems to be back today, though.

Interestingly enough saw this Question today....
Quote:
Question received 09/2/2010:

bob: Where are the Crogenitors?

Response:

In your coordinates they are approximately at 12 29 08 00. More specific location information is -CLASSIFIED-.

Access Level Required: Violet.

Meaning the AI is with the Corgenitors.

I'm assuming it follows the visible color spectrum, making red the lowest clearance level.

In order from lowest to highest it would be:

Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo
Violet

I had this same thought but in the reverse order with Red being the highest access level and violet the lowest. My line of spec is that

Quote:
My primary function is to serve the Crogenitors. My secondary function is -CLASSIFIED-. My tertiary function is -CLASSIFIED-. Completion of these functions will benefit your species.

Access Level Required: Orange.

and

Quote:
I am aware of only one species remaining in my galaxy. That species is aware. Simulations show that, without action, there will be only one species in your galaxy too. If my secondary objective is not fulfilled, the universe will be -CLASSIFIED-.

Access Level Required: Orange.

would seem to require a higher level of access than

Quote:

Access Level Required: Violet.

If you consider clues have already been given to Edna's location, it doesn't seem like it would require much higher access level than we already have to gain more specific location information. Information about Edna's objectives and the ultimate fate of the universe would be much more classified IMO.

So we know the coordinates point to Messier, M49. Here's what I found on the web about it:

http://seds.org/messier/m/m049.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messier_49
wikipedia references this article about a black hole there:
