Not a bad ending.

I get the impression this is the end of the ARG elements. Hope I'm wrong, but on the other hand the game itself is looking better and better.

i really doubt that this is it, there are too many loose ends, like the security levels to access the information or the pictures displayed when the words like alone or life were written

Just because there are loose ends doesn't mean it's not over. Like the majority of PM's they aren't getting paid to do this; and well from the epilogue looks like they have to get back to stuff that does pay Razz

This was apparently done by the developers themselves, not a secondary agency that specializes in this sort of thing.

As they get closer to their release date, the developers are going to have less time to do this sort of thing.

So unless they do get an outside agency to do it, I wouldn't keep my hopes up.

Which makes the whole thing that much more impressive. It was very well done from the beginning and to find out it was done in their spare time is well...rather shocking. I'd like to know what sort of experience with ARGs they had prior to this.

Oh don't get me wrong; I do think it was impressive indeed. I'm just saying that the PMs might have different priorities.

And I know quite a few professional game designers that are familiar with ARGs.

For the record, I have reason to believe (although I can't prove it) that a lot of the Portal ARG-like stuff was in house as well.

I can't speak for any of the rest of the team members, but I've done playtesting for The Game, as well as been a member of Game Control once. I think that significantly influenced the puzzle design in a way we weren't exactly happy with; the problems would be solved by hardcore puzzlers like you guys in a way that made it hard for the community to get involved.

We tried to solve that problem with the comic-con puzzle (which I think was too easy, because it got solved and I don't even know by whom), and the genetics puzzle. Of course, one problem with doing community puzzles is that they have to be easier, and if they are easy enough they can solved by programs. Which you guys did, heh. We tried to discourage that with a slap on your wrists, but I don't think we fully made our goal of getting the larger Darkspore community involved. I do think that our fans enjoyed the content leaks, though.

I hope you all had fun, and if you have feedback about the game, please leave me a PM.
