Is the number 5 significant at all? "Establi5hing" on the second line and "OUTREACH" is "5UTREACH" before the 5 changes to an O.

There aren't any obvious references to 5 on the official site that I could find. I can only think that it could be a reference to the pi puzzle.

BTW, pie returns 3.14 as well

It appears the video has finished uploading.

Enter video to see the trailer.

At the top, Video is now listed as Video... 0/5. You have to enter key words from the video to get Video to 5/5.

I've already gotten one: sector-ballast.
I got another: ttc ggfs 479287.
And another: gatatxa.
Another: vis-04.
Final: upgrade complete.

Video analyzed. THANK YOU.

Typing Language now gives

Code:
3.14159265589792384626433832950288419716939937058209749445923078164028620899862803482534

While typing pi or pie gives

Code:
3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592307816406286208998628034825342

Previously, typing in warrior would give you

but now you have to type in war

Oh yeah and typing helpedna returns Signal received. THANK YOU.

So it looks like figuring out the pi puzzle and whatever OUTREACH is before all parts will show received. I'm pretty sure that BE THERE means that just being at the reveal tomorrow will activate something.

Perhaps it will be something like what the Portal ARG did at Gabe Newell's acceptance speech during the GDC Awards Show.

EDIT: Well I think Outreach may have automatically completed itself with Darkspore's appearance at Comic Con. It is now listed as Outreach... connected. THANK YOU.

EDIT: And here's an article about Darkspore at Comic Con.

Oop, looks like there's a time limit on Language now ...
Code:

 + Language... 22:40:18

Meep! Still working on this. Perplexed still, not got any ideas.

EDIT:
Oh and also:

This is the difference between pi and output of "language", which I think may be the key.

Plus a '2' missing from the end. Anybody know what happened at the outreach?

It looks like we are officially helpful. Type help for:

Community discussions: 1 2

Also, the countdown should end on July 26 at 2:00 PM CDT.

Ha, awesome.

This pi thing is making my brain hurt. I'm trying to work out if the ellipses indicate that there is something missing or something else. I am doing this by splitting it up by the ellipses, and then trying to find each segment in pi. This isn't working too well.

The groups of numbers you get from the output of the pi command, and the output of the language command are as such:
Code:

3 3 7 5 16

(which may or may not have been previously stated)

All of these numbers are under 26, which suggests to me Ceaser.

The numbers are a bit strange in that it starts with the same number (which doesn't suggest a word to me, unless that word is Lloyd). Backwards it makes a bit more sense, perhaps. I converted them to letters using a simple substitution cipher.

Quote:

Added numbers = 3 3 7 5 16
Spacing between added numbers = 10 5 13 18 22

I can tell you that the spaces of the numbers in the rest of the pi puzzle extend past 26. I went down that road a while ago and was disappointed.

Right now the only potentially significant factors that I can think of that make sense to me are the numbers that are indicated or their positions within pi. Their positions within pi are especially interesting to me because they could be used as a kind of book cipher, but I've had no success matching them to the base-64, which appears to be the only related string long enough to be viable.

Also the countdown did not jump an hour and will still end tomorrow at 2:00 PM CDT.

There you go Smile I have no idea if they work or not and I'm not going to try right now cause I just spent waaaay too long solving a puzzle that said there was no point to the solve >.>

Hmm, I guess I could have done something weird to my browser - one moment I looked it was at 22 hours, I refreshed and it was at 19.

If it were a book cipher, what book? Much of the numbers are under 100, but most of the ones above. I might draw a histogram of the missing numbers, get an idea of number distribution, which could help. Or it might just make it more confusing.

Done it: won't bother with the graph, but the vast majority of the numbers are less than 10 ... which makes sense given that they're mostly single characters >_<

LOLS I thought of using that earlier but I was all nahhh.
But I guess I might as well. Razz

I didn't mean to use the book cipher with the missing grouped numbers from pi. I meant using the positions of each missing digit in pi with characters or words from somewhere. But I doubt it will lead anywhere. I'm so utterly confused. :S

If the numbers from vapor's post are accurate, then these are the corresponding characters from XMIT1's base-64:
Quote:
ZABAgAA/RABjwMLJSlaDhKmi129R3vd/C/V7CZRuKUmXODTs7tVMq+fXhT3qLLkY9JF2WUW2ucU+R/A71KlK5nxsXGsjDEg7cblu2t5BSG4warKDFQhO536abdHTLetSBVutBycr1Wt2iIOe5uWvfJ/LZa255qq0VQTmkx3ogotfaNqUndtOSlyJS/Dut3/0/bedO7HXlQ1ZaeVgq2tYgNS3ynuDK6DZqt7bAu+imu64qwP2h7YtsLWvo9jB8XNpr3LSje1jytHHrPlxCWX6Vs7np0EwqrmstZ12og4s90SG6M1lrjZNeyeV6d8kJ8FrphdEesWgKGPkNO8siHjLCrDsi

Clearly, not very helpful. I'll try the cadaeic cadenza next. Tried it, the positions of the missing digits of pi extend to 5933 (if you include the "3." as digits 1 and 2) while the cadaeic cadenza goes to about 4000 words. But if you do letters then you get what begins with adytll. I didn't bother going all the way because it's apparently gibberish.

When it comes to this puzzle, I've lost hope. Especially because of the time limit. We need a hint.

We've got a mask of missing numbers, but we don't have anything to apply it to.

I can't help feeling that the numbers that we get out of "language" is some sort of key. But what that might actually entail, who knows. The numbers on their own don't seem to apply to anything. The only thing I can think of is some kind of Vigenere or Gronsfield cipher. But again, what does it get applied to?

Maybe we just need to let the time limit expire, and see if anything happens after that? Maybe PM's will take pity :p
