Test on letters

Other than the black light, there is also the lemon juice and heat thing. We done this a lot when I was a kid.

The watermark is out of game right? Southworth paper seems like a legit company.

Not necessarily. In the article I linked, it says that a 'run' of paper has its own roller which embeds the customized date for that batch.

I don't think it would be out of bounds to order a custom printing with the ARG's own imprint... certainly not given the energy and expense they put into customized letter and envelope designs just for an initial mailing.

I'm not saying it's a guarantee, but since the company itself admits to customizing their watermark as a matter of standard practice, Paramount could swing its own order in the company pipeline. Southworth isn't making custom paper from scratch, they're just changing the imprints on their basic stock. They do it all the time anyway. A possibility.

The more I hear about the paper company and Minker's paper job, I think it only reinforces that the watermark is IG. Someone call the paper company with the watermark!

I'd love to post the watermark as well, but I can't make it out that well and damned if I can figure out how I'd capture it to post in the first place.

Is there an example at the paper companies website to compare it to? I'm off to look...

This is on the company website, so I assume this is the watermark.

What can we hope to gain from finding out the the date of the watermark? If the paper this was printed on, actually is from the period Poppeteers is portrayed, or if its modern day? I'm not understanding the significance of the watermark...

Yeah I saw that one too, but it's just too small to really make it out there either

Like I said, there's no guarantee a dated watermark would be In Game, but given the customized process of it, I suggested it was worth a look.

As in: what if the imprint wasn't a *date* but some other clue, i.e. URL.

Couldn't somebody call Southworth and determine when the paper was created though? Whats to say that the clue/customization was making the watermark info appear to be from 50's 60's, or a significant date?

Gah, I hope it's not too late to send in the printout to join in. I joined in while I was on vacation and didn't have printer access, and I just got back. I want to be in this. Sad

On the Top Ten Real Conspiracies website as of 6/5/10:
"Hey - new to this site. Does anyone know the best way to authenticate something? Like old papers, photos, footage, etc? Are there experts for conspiracy related verifications? Would appreciate the help!"

Wanted to add my two cents on the watermark. If it was something that was IG I think they would have payed more attention to it's positioning. On my letter the watermark is where the Poppeteer logo is, so you can't really see it clearly.

One thing I did notice, and don't know if it's anything or not, but the Zipcode on the address and the zipcode on the post office stamp is different. The P.O. Box zip is 58702 the post office stamp zip is 58701.

Also for anyone still looking into space date connections, it was mailed out on July 13th.
