Letter
Letter

I find it weird that we got it just before comicon, so i think we have something to look forward to then. Until then we can only hope...maybe we will get something else in the mail...

Was wondering if anyone else...like me...decided to print out the newspaper after I heard about the letters being received, and each time I get to the print command on the STIES site gets a flash crash error?

Tested on 3 computers btw

Wow, head away for a few days and look what happens! Very cool.

With regard to Ursa Major in the logo, I don't entirely agree. I previously posted http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=716016&search_id=2051980201#716016 a recurring link to the constellation Cephus (being slightly translated depending on view point), a constellation that's been used previously in sci-fi due to the (real) presence of exo-planets. It's also present in RP logo (see attached-Green circles). An interesting difference is that central, very bright star. It is present in RP but absent in pins and trailer (but there does appear to be a bright light ?descending on the Left of trailer). Probably unrelated but it is a notable difference.

I've overlaid the 2 RP images (web and letter) and set opacity at 50% to look for differences (yellow arrows). Overall very minimal, probably due to printing (though the stars are brighter and rocket more apparent)

This was also mentioned and I find slightly curious, the grammer in:

Remember, kids: Real Spacemen Love Rocket Poppeteers!!!

Reading the Southworth website, they sometimes add in errors for authenticity checks. Still a bit odd...

Also (as I'm not a registered Astro & can't try this yet) several people mentioned the lining up trick. Before you start brandishing any trout in my general direction, an observation (or permutation) that hasn't been disproved (yet) and would like to know if it doesn't work:

1. Line up newspaper (crosses and lines)
2. Line up Captain Cooper image with newspaper image (he looks about the right scale to be the same image as the paper, and may overlap very well)
3. Any overlap with letter writing and lines???

May not work, but Coop doesn't look scaled so worth a try.

Anyways, will send off my maze after leaving it on my desk for the last 2 months. Hopefully will join the race Rolling Eyes

I'm in Scotland and got mine today.

I know a few people in the states had said they got a stamp saying something about the importance of Zip Codes, mine doesn't have this so I think it may have been added by the Postal Service and not neccessarily be a clue!

Very very exciting though!!!

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think that's a moon that the father and sun are pointing at, at least not only a moon. I believe that what they are pointing at is a lunar/solar eclipse. I think that the shapes on the lighted part of the object are solar flares. If that is the case, then we need to add one more star to the mix, the sun.

It was? That's weird. I'm not very good with the uploading images it always seems to go wrong, so I'll apologise now if it doesn't work.

Thanks for the scan (it worked).

However, yours looks like it was mis-canceled.
ALWAYS USE ZIP CODE is all the way to the right (and off the envelope)!
