Yes, Tenshi is correct, that bar code tells sorting machines everything from destination country, state, city, and in some case even the mail carrier's route where you live.

Regarding this not being OUR moon, it doesn't seem to make any sense having a man and a young child pointing to such a crisp, clean image of (whatever planet's the image is of) the moon.

We know that for illustation purposes the moon is often depicted as being larger in the night's sky than it really is, but for a moon from another planet, it just seems to be a stretch for me, but that's just me.

I don't think it would be that much of a stretch, I mean after all, they're asking us to help Coop defend outer space, not Earth. Perhaps other planets were "colonized"?

(I realize that no other planets in our solar system can support our life forms without modification, but considering that this part of the ARG at least is seemingly a piece of fiction (It reminds me of an old b&w tv show or something) then why not?)
Nasa has footage os what some call Space Snakes among other names.A theory is out there some things are able to live in space. So for the film to say another planet in our solar system has a colony on it would just mean they evolved diffrently then us and could survive there well but would perhaps need a suit here on earth. And since this is scifi or fiction thay could do whatever they wish lol.But I honestly believe it is our moon in the drawing.

Hi, everybody! Finally caught up! Yikes. Anyway, sent my letter today, we'll see what happens! (My totally random astronaut ID is Space Kobe, which I thought was hilarious at the time, apparently.)

Anyway, my two cents is that we really should be thinking about how exactly to tell Poppeteers how many stars there are. As there doesn't really seem to be any clear way to do this, perhaps the solution will also tell us how?

Sorry if this doesn't seem very proactive or specific. I'm sort of burnt out after reading threads for 4 hours straight.

Not necessarily true, anyone follow the TARdis project (tardigrades in space). These little critters not only survived the vacuum, radiation soaked, chilly environment known as outer space, but were able to reproduce successfully after that without the aid of a Barry White soundtrack...

Regarding other planets, carbon based life forms could exist in the clouds of jupiter or saturn (cloud-based life forms), as noted by the Committee on the Limits of Organic Life in Planetary Systems and Committee on the Origins and Evolution of Life ( http://books.nap.edu/openbook.php?record_id=11919 ), or alternate forms such as methane based life forms on Titan ( http://www.nasa.gov/topics/solarsystem/features/titan20100603.html )...

As stated, there could be 2 planetoids, one certainly is not the moon (upper Left RP letter). Jury's out on the other (RP logo)...

Actually I said "our life forms" meaning humans. I just meant that you or I couldn't go out to another planet and just get out of the ship and walk around unhindered by the environment.

I live in Vancouver, Canada and I got my letter today.

It had 3 US Stamps with the "Always Use A Zipcode" cancellation stamp on it.

everything else is the same....

Why is Speedflier spelled Speedflier and not Speedflyer?

EDIT: I keep looking at the letter and there's just something not right...

So many questions but no way to answer them or reply? Only the PO box number on the envelope but what kids gonna write back, we didn't ask for a penpal we want to be ASTRONAUTS god damn it!

First off it says Welcome to the programme but then reading from the rest of the letter I'm not even in yet... Only the most brave will succeed - that's a challenge, to do what? Maybe the star challenge but then it normally says put your answer on the back of a postcard with your name and address or something at least!

I got mine recently, which means Norway is in. It seems to be the same as everybody elses.

Kosmo, it is probably on it's way to Germany as we speak Very Happy

As far as I can see, no one has commented on the barcodes on the envelope (both front and back). It is probably some standard coding, but it wouldn't hurt to try to figure it out. Anyone knows how to read these symbols?

Thank you, Troag, I still hope Smile
Btw. for decoding barcodes I advice everybody this wonderful software: http://www.bctester.de/en/index.htm
I've used it for many ARGs (including Star Trek ones).
