Tried 16stars as a website, came up with one, but fairly sure it's out of game. What an odd name for a site.

The watermark is out of game right? Southworth paper seems like a legit company.

Dunno but Southworth paper have been on the go for 150 years... Either this is the oldest ARG in history or your right it is OOG

Let's slow down a minute... it's perfectly possible that the stars on the flags are not intended to be counted, and that the word "star" is not intended to be counted. There are a few permutations to consider as a result.

If we subtract the 100 from the two flags, it's just 39.

Also, very likely that the timecode on the watermark is applicable. The watermark is not OOG just because the paper company is real.

Okay, two separate suggestions here...

1) please scan the letter just so we can see you have it and what it says. A low-res scan (or simply type up the text) will do.

2) I found something *potentially* interesting about Southworth paper watermarks, though without more info from Burn28, we can't know if it applies. But worth looking at it, Burn:

Quote:
Southworth has been using date codes on most of our watermarked grades since at least 1941. The date code is a small straight line placed either over or under a letter or number in the watermark. The date code is changed after the last time the dandy roll (the device used to embed the watermark before the paper is totally formed) is run in the calendar year. The dandy is sent out and the old code is removed and the new code mark is carefully soldered in place. The reason for the date code is so that Southworth can tell what year the paper was made.

Southworth has received numerous calls asking if we can determine when a particular sheet of our paper was made. On approximately half of the calls we receive, we identify that the paper was made after the document states it was written.

One of the calls that Southworth received was from Mr. Marvin H. Dawson, a Forensic Document Examiner with Dawson Document Laboratory, L.L.C. Mr. Dawson wrote the following article explaining first hand how important a date-coded watermark can be.

Full article here at the company site: http://www.southworth.com/page.php?id=168

I was puzzled why an ARG would use such high-quality cotton fiber, watermarked paper to send a 'simple' letter. Now I'm just very curious if there's a clue embedded IN that paper, as Burn mentioned.

I got my mail for today, nothing from RP.

Didn't Josh say something about starting to become allergic to paper? And this company is in Massachusetts.

It's great there is movement on this Smile i'm still trying to figure out what the connection between rocketpopeteers and the rest of the discovered materials could possibly be this time round. Last time it was to convey a hidden message by lining up the text. Are we currently trying to figure out a similair key?

EDIT: Ok im starting to see a connection...

Not in the face please i'm new to posting here Smile

Yes, he did. On his April 10th post:

Implying that paper products were his former career...

Hubbard connection?

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:7de9MaFS7OkJ:translated.by/you/mission-earth-doomed-planet/original/%3Fpage%3D4+ron+hubbard+speed+flier&cd=6&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk

Might seem slightly tenuous, but this text ''Mission: Earth "Doomed Planet" written by none other than Ron Hubbard (Science fiction writer scientology founder...) mentions ''speed fliers''

''The park day salon was nice and cool, very rustic, all of native stone with an actual fireplace. You could have drilled a company in it. The walls were lined with paintings. There were Jettero's three sons, all middle-aged now but in the paintings still boys: two were shown in the uniforms of the Royal Academy and the third in the helmet of a speed flier.''

also mentioned here http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Library/Shelf/miller/bfm03.htm

''On the morning of Sunday 13 September 1931, the good people of Gratis, Ohio, a small farming community in Preble County, were surprised to see a small biplane swoop out of the sky and land on a field to the east of the town. The pilots, according to an awed report in the Preble County News, were Philip Browning and 'L. Ron "Flash" Hubbard, dare-devil speed pilot and parachute artist'.''
