[edit] Damn, topped a page. Copy/pasting AlmightyL's post here.

The 'puzzle' is definitely not rot13.

A isn't very good at being stoic and mysterious, is he?

There's been a few new blog posts, incidentally. I put the coded tweet through a ROT13 thing and got this.

Quote:
Mxo teui qdoedu te qdokxydw?

If there were any vowels in it, I'd suggest that the tweet was a word jumble; maybe you can make something out of the ROT13 jumble? I mean, this blog has done multi-layered puzzles before (with the ticking).

I'm gonna write it out on a sheet of paper when I go out tomorrow, see what I can make of it.

You know, there's something about the whole <3~~~~~ that instantly makes me think A might be female. I know that sounds weird to say, but come on. How many guys use <3, ~ for !, and 'sweetie'?

Edit: I just had a thought. We haven't heard from Sam in QUITE a while, have we?

I tried ROT13 and got the same. I also did the old

ABC...
ZYX...

and came up with....

Apy tise wjyijs ti wjyxpojq?

On A being female: Hm, possibly. It could just be an effeminate guy... but I dunno! Text is a bit hard to read.

And as for Sam (I assume you mean SublimeSilence?), we haven't. I've left a comment on the blog, asking Lexiconical to check up on her.

And as for the "reverse-alphabet", hm. Maybe it's something a little more complicared, cipher-wise? Not sure.

The interesting thing about the possible ROT13 scramble is that it gives us 2 q's and 2 u's - which ALWAYS go together. I've got a pen and paper out now. Trying to work through it, but there are a lot of letters that don't seem to belong. The two x's, for example. There are no s's, no r's, either..

Yeah; if I get anything that isn't nonsense, I'll post it up here.

I'm also keeping an eye open for any other possible ways of translating it. Might try putting it through +1 space in the alphabet (so, a=b, b=c and so on), along with -1. That'll be done tomorrow - I'm quite tired at the moment, sorry!

I may actually have something. I set it into a Keyed Caesar with 3 as the shift(the note below said Lexi had '3' days, plus the 2 <3's was sort of a hint, in my book), and basically got,

"Why does anyone do anyu(t?)hing?"

I think that may be it. Seeing as "Anonymous" just responded with:

Quote:

To your post about the riddle.

Of course, I'm not entirely sure what

...

xx

translates to, but that was the only word combination I found that made any kind of sense to me, so I assumed that to be the answer. I'm gunna feel like such a chucklehead if I was wrong. Not that that'd be the first time, mind you..

Edit: I got called a jerk. :3 That's somewhat complimentary, I think.

I wonder what this is about? Has A posted on any other ARGs, or is this just a hint of things to come?

A also twitted that they'd post another puzzle, but had their own puzzle to solve, and asked if we wanted to help.

And there's been a new post on the blog itself, from A. Looks like their puzzle was to figure out 'conical's password. There's a code at the bottom, which is this:

Quote:
Psso cv jajwd vwbmjwws vq hjoplcl puzpnoa

Does this have the same cipher as the one before?

I know of a website that has many cryptogram keys and ciphers. He/she was actually rather smart this time.

Instead of just using one shift(That is, how in Rot it skips 13 letters?), they used several number shifts. So I had to manually go in, switch shifts, and find the words one by one.
