I'm agreed on that, as suggested before. Not that we've gotten a cue to actually respond. I still think it's just another vintage visual clue about game playing and may well not be intended as an actual game element.

JUST for that? No, I highly doubt it since they disallow duplicate names which implies some form of fan registration/account to be used later for ARG.
A Comic-Con bonus goody for attending SUPER 8 fans/ARGamers when the film doesn't have its own panel this year? 100% likely.

Just be glad they don't ask us how many stars on that page! ;-p

Number of stars ... (and a little "jingle")

LOL!
Well, we have narrowed this "puzzle" down to just a few numbers:
16 - Stars printed on the page.
17 - Stars including the "big" one the challenge is requested.
18 - All the above including the word "Stars!"
140 - Absolutely EVERY star on the page (excluding "Coop" - sorry).
[I think this "Star Challenge" has become moot, as it has been mentioned that folks who DID NOT COMPLETE the MAZE got their letters of recognition!]
Furthermore, the TWITTER page asks us to sing the Rocket Pop Theme Song?!?!
LOL!!!
Even SLUSHO! had a theme song (that went relatively unnoticed) ...

I think it's 17 or 139, personally.

Me too, but I'm leaning towards 17 since the stars on the ship are indistinguishable and the ones on Coop's arm look more like dots.

Kiddin', but rationally, that is the only "song" we have by now, right?

I'm thinking the RP site was supposed to be up before CC. I bet when it does open up we will be treated with some sort of song celebrating Captain Coop and the Rocket Poppeteers.

Leave it up to a 5 year old I asked my son, and he said there are 17 stars. He's a genius, so I'm going with his answer...
