Re: More Wristbands out there?

With all the Token and Purse packs they were handing out like candy the rest of the weekend at Flynn's, I wonder if there is some way to still get a wristband code? I know there was one lot on eBay where I asked the guy if he'd used the code, and he said no. It went for way out of my non-existent budget however.

Did anyone hear of anyone getting extras, or does anyone have an idea who we could contact to see if we could get one if there was extras?

I have a couple of extras That went unused, that I would be willing to trade for. PM me and we'll talk. I'm not looking for cash, but possible trade for ARG swag.

Why is the file from FilmEdge only 349 mb?
Is that yet another encode from another source?

When I load the trailer of the file linked on my site, Movie Inspector says the file size is 366.1 MB.

That would appear to make the difference between it and the USB version less than 5 MB.

At any rate, hope you find the USB version to see the difference for yourself.

I have the USB version, but need a place to upload it to... any suggestions? I'm broke right now, so I can only do free places, unless someone wants to host it for me Wink

The point is really to keep it pristine, so splitting the file is not preferable. If the file wasn't so big, there would be many ways to move it around. Right about now, I'm wishing we had a good sneakernet that could span the distances between all of us.

if you split it right you wouldn't know the difference (it is digital) ... but as was mentioned, maybe torrent would be the best way to fly.

A torrent would need to be seeded forever to stay alive as it were, it would be nice to have a permanent link for download.

@Euchre, splitting the file by rar compression doesn't cause any loss of information. When you have all the consecutive archives and extract, the file comes out the same as it went in.

@Phylos, if you want to go that route, there's a WinRAR tutorial for it here, or I'd be happy to help if you need it. Very Happy

Here's a link to the HD trailer from the USB drive:

http://files.me.com/davecobb/cbj0f3.mov
password: flynnlives

Also: I just noticed today that the identity disc has an etched numeric code on it, "402-500". Might just be a manufacturing code, but maybe something more? I tried entering it into flynnlives.com, but no dice:

<a>IDENTITY DISC - CODE?</a>

Hey Dave, not a code, just your number! The discs were a limited run of 500.

Thanks a billion! Finally, a version of the trailer that doesn't have the Yahoo! Movies watermark and still has pristine visuals (no compression garbage in this one)!

The one FilmEdge provided lacks the watermark, and its very, very close in quality to the USB one. The data rate is a bit higher in the USB version, enough that on my older mini here it can't render it as anything more than a slide show. (My new mini hooked to my TV will be fine.)

I suspect if there's a digital version any better, it is probably a 4k version. Since I don't know anyone with a 4k display, I'm not going to worry about that one.
