data_store is the same name as the badge we earned. I would guess we'll all be getting identity discs in the mail. Hopefully! Very Happy

As with anything else with event codes, would anyone be willing to share their, or a friend's (who isn't be using it, obviously), achievement code with someone who is unable to schlep out to California? Namely, moi? Smile

Haha, I doubt we'd get the Identity Disks.

But man....Wouldn't it be something?

So, are we guessing how many, total?
I'll go with 160 (32 x 5).

Possibly. If all the packages are the same, and there are 32 at each spot (and I assume that you cannot collect more than one package; there must be Disney-hired distributors on scene), then there are at least 96 disks already collected. One of the pictures I saw of a disk had "006-500" imprinted on it. I think this means that the disks might be a limited run of 500 disks. Even if there were 5 spots total, that's 160 disks issued out at SDCC, leaving 340 to be distributed to a limited number of onliners. Is it possible that only those who solved the identity raid puzzle today (July 22) gets a disk?

I'm willing to bet that only a few will get the disks. Many more of us might just get spare Flynn's Arcade tokens. Which is not a bad thing, really...

It's no wonder how fast the swag goes when you factor in support staff, friends-of-friends, VIP/media care and feeding and whatnot. I'm hoping the latter keep me in mind, though I always seem to be too far down the list.

"This year provided even more surprises as the Flynn Lives organization discovered a new location in San Diego and an exclusive 3D preview of the film was presented."

This is from the NEWS section of the new official site. I'm wondering if they're talking about the 8 minute preview that was shown this morning (which is also talked about in the NEWS section itself) or if this is what the "event" tonight is about. Hmmmmmm.....

You bring up a valid point, but from my own experiences both participating and working publicity events...

Support staff may get to keep leftovers. Say there are 160 disks at SDCC, and only 140 are given away? Support staff will usually take the 20, if they can get away with it, and either keep them, sell them, or give them to friends.

VIPs might get identify disks, but it's also a very good possibility that they are getting far better swag; things that we won't be told about, because if we are, then we start complaining about the stuff we get. Think about the goodie bags you hear about for Oscar parties. With the money Disney is pumping into this promotion campaign, I bet VIPs are getting something a lot cooler. And more expensive.

Media gets squat, or if they get something, it's usually a lot cheaper and distributable, like a poster. Just the way things go. I think the media considers their swag to be first peeks at pretty much everything.

Are you serious? That's a ridiculous turn-around time. I wasn't even aware the USPS even moved that fast.
