I don't know, getting the feeling he's at SDCC. However, optimisim is our ally, folks.

This is from the NEWS section of the new official site. I'm wondering if they're talking about the 8 minute preview that was shown this morning (which is also talked about in the NEWS section itself) or if this is what the "event" tonight is about. Hmmmmmm.....

My guess is it's about a whole new and different thing Rusty... Daft Punk playing TRON Legacy's themes live!

i'm fairly positive he's at SDCC. he mentions bracelets, those are in the Scavenger Hunt. Speaking of which, when you look at the things they've had to find and the order they've been in; they match with the order of the images from the Identity Raid site to unlock the trailer. The codes they're getting will also give them an Identity Raid badge on the Flynn Lives site.

If that's so, then the possibility of disks is looking good.

Excellent point. I was wondering how that would work out.

It's no wonder how fast the swag goes when you factor in support staff, friends-of-friends, VIP/media care and feeding and whatnot. I'm hoping the latter keep me in mind, though I always seem to be too far down the list.

You bring up a valid point, but from my own experiences both participating and working publicity events...

Support staff may get to keep leftovers. Say there are 160 disks at SDCC, and only 140 are given away? Support staff will usually take the 20, if they can get away with it, and either keep them, sell them, or give them to friends.

VIPs might get identify disks, but it's also a very good possibility that they are getting far better swag; things that we won't be told about, because if we are, then we start complaining about the stuff we get. Think about the goodie bags you hear about for Oscar parties. With the money Disney is pumping into this promotion campaign, I bet VIPs are getting something a lot cooler. And more expensive.

Media gets squat, or if they get something, it's usually a lot cheaper and distributable, like a poster. Just the way things go. I think the media considers their swag to be first peeks at pretty much everything.
Our experience differs.

From what I've seen... When the "### of ###" is associated with free stuff, nowhere near the 2nd number of folks get served.
And as for media... Again... Different experience. In the ARG world the more desirable items (not necessarily the most valuable) go to media in hopes for the best bang for the buck. Unless it's an Indie/grassroots game with a substantial initial premium. For those, there is a cadre of usual suspects that get included in trailheads.
VIPs like those credited in the film do get another level of stuff. I'm talking about the hotel staff or people who just happen to be in the wrong place at the right time and need a bribe to move along.

ETA: And, confusion's posts tell us s/he is, in fact, at SDCC.

Meh, it sucks that a select group of people get a chance at something no one else does. At least with the on-line stuff we all have a shot at it. I felt the same during the TDK ARG, when SDCC folks got to participate in a couple of sweet events that only those people who were able to nab tickets quick enough could participate in. I suppose it's the nature of the beast, but it's still unfortunate and its sort of a downer to essentially be excluded.

I suppose its the end that matters...I was one of the lucky folks who wound up at the advanced screening of TDK in Phoenix, so I should count myself fortunate. Smile

Greetings fellow arizonan. Great weather we're having today huh? Anyways, I totally agree, all I got out of the ARG was the Dent Mobile stuff. Kinda sucks, but oh well, it was still fun.

I'm paying VERY close attention to this one though.

Did they stop giving out Identity disks? My friend says that she only got wristbands in her package during that last deployment.

So I got one of these, it's awesome. I got it on the neutral bit. Anywho, does anyone know what this thing is tonight? I've heard my fair share of rumours....
