That's strange, since they distributed only 450 wristbands, and they were giving out only one poster per person...

They did alot more than 450 Wristbands.
I was first in line (started waiting between 6:30PM and 7:00PM and watched them hand out wrist bands to people who didn't even participate in the scavenger hunt. There was a 2nd line to the left of the door for "media" and they got wristbands... I saw several in the media section that were draggin around little kids and unless they were from home made blogs they didn't all look media like to me.

Sorry guys, I'll be able to post a ton of stuff when I get back home to Ohio. I'll be home on Monday, but I have grad school, so Tuesday I can start posting some of this stuff. I have some good video of the event and lots of pictures (with a nice Canon DSLR, to boot), so I'll get that stuff up when I can.

To confirm there was only the one data_store.mov file, and nothing else that I could discover (no hidden files or such) with my means.

Has someone uploaded this file somewhere? That's more than twice the size of the 1080p trailer file from the Yahoo site. Makes me wonder what the resolution of that file is, or what else could be in there. I'm also going to guess it does not have a watermark. I need to check the audio tracks on the Yahoo file, maybe the difference is stereo vs 5.1 audio?

I'll put it on my server when I get back. 371 MB is a bit much for me to do while here. I might try tonight to see how long it takes. I think it's bulky because it's quicktime, IMHO.

Here are the stats I got from gstreamer on it:
1920x816
H.264/AVC
24 fps
raw 24-bit PCM audio, stereo, 48000 Hz

The original trailer had MPEG-4 AAC audio, so with the raw audio, that could explain the size difference. Also, the original is 1920x800.

Please do upload it soon. I'm getting real sick and tired of the Yahoo encode!

Why is the file from FilmEdge only 349 mb?
Is that yet another encode from another source?

The trailer videos on my site are direct from Disney (with permission to post on my site) and it is their linked file - I don't host the files on my server. The player runs the vid off their server, so I can't speak to file size, etc.

But they're unbranded at least.

The other line, was not only for Media/Press, it was also for VIPs and "important" Disney employees, like the head if imagineering. Press and Media was pretty loose. The unknowns two from G4 didn't even have a pad and pencil, much less a camera and they were referring to the Arcade as Trons Arcade. Hmph!

I can appreciate that.

But...

I still want a copy of what came off those USB drives.

How could you work for G4 and not have at least a bit of knowledge about Tron? Or... you know... look UP at the big neon sign that says, "FLYNN'S"?

Can't help you there, just offering what I've got available to those who don't want to watch the TRON trailer through Yahoo's logo.

Btw, might it be possible that the file size seen on the USB drive also includes an embedded player for the file? That might account for a larger file size playing the 'same' trailer file. Just a thought.

More Wristbands out there?

With all the Token and Purse packs they were handing out like candy the rest of the weekend at Flynn's, I wonder if there is some way to still get a wristband code? I know there was one lot on eBay where I asked the guy if he'd used the code, and he said no. It went for way out of my non-existent budget however.

Did anyone hear of anyone getting extras, or does anyone have an idea who we could contact to see if we could get one if there was extras?

There is no Media Player built in. It's just a simple Quick Time .MOV file.
If I had a place to upload it to, I'd be more than happy to. File size is 371 MB Info extracted on the file from VLC is:
