I suppose it would help if you had said "rhetorically asking," Dude! Confused

"aggressive fishing?" Laughing

I haven't even got a licence, Dude.

Quite possibly, but it is quite apparent that all the planetoids we have seen are not the same, and there appears to be a strong Saturn link. Personally I think it's too early to call the RP logo-but the scale does not matter. It would grossly out of proportion for our moon to be that size if they are sitting on Earth* (given it's well off the horizon) and if we're going to be concrete about matters you'd have to conclude it's some space body hurtling towards the planet, despite their calm and benign demeanor Wink As pointed out, it's a picture, and so represents pretty much whatever the creators want; be that race to the moon, reach for Phoebes, grasp for pluto etc etc., and scale really doesn't matter too much.

*Beermat scratchings: Using chaps head as a known reference point with average diameter of 15cm, and known lunar diameter of 3476km, it would have to be orbiting at roughly 4500km as oppose to 384,000 km (based on angular size of 43 degrees (sin-1((24mm(moon)/2)/30mm(distance))*2) ..... This may be mildly off, but principle is there Twisted Evil

Yes, I'm aware that the logo is an artistic representation...

My point, again, is the following:

Given that the RP ad was grounded in a historically accurate time period, when moon landings were a big thing, and call it ARG-crazy of me to ASSUME that humans are on planet earth in our dimension... I think it's pretty safe to say that they are pointing at the moon.

And EVEN IF THEY'RE NOT, there is not substantial evidence suggesting that it isn't the moon yet. I appreciate that you feel differently, I have no problem with that, I was merely trying to get the point across that my personal opinion is that analyzing the logos in regards to which moon/planet it might be right now seems like grasping at straws.

Incorrect sir, I posit that it's a wheel of cheese.

Back in the braegen discussion, someone made a hex code or something of the sound file. It reminds me a lot of the logic matrix you made in the OP. Could they relate in some way?

The talk of one of Saturn's moons came about more due to the maze on the RP mail-in coupon, which ended at Saturn. Then talk evolved (ha!) about speculations on finding life in our solar system, with Titan being one of the earliest scientific targets for investigation. Other moons entered the discussion as well.

But all through that, I think a general consensus would agree with you that the dad/boy appear to be pointing to idealized art of our Moon. And just as likely the in-film speculation that our Moon would not be a source of life for the S8 'creature' (spec), but that perhaps one of Saturn or Jupiter is a likelier candidate, at least locally.

So if it helps... there's really two layers of analysis going on with RP.com and its associated imagery. It's not all about the dad/son image. Our Moon is a rather unlikely suspect in one line of that speculation, but as you say, a very likely depiction in the other.

Cheers!

TWITTER
tweet

I've never been one to let everyone know my every move.

And, I'm not one to want to follow my favorite celebrity's moves.

However, I created a TWITTER account to see just where the Rocket Poppeteers' "FAN" Truck would be heading next, so that if it comes to my neck of the woods, I would be prepared.

I was offered a "Pop-Up" ... It's sort of funny :

"Ice Cream Truck!"?!?!?

"Quicksand..."?!?!?!

LOL!

I'm new to TWITTER, so please don't "trout."

I haven't seen this posted anywhere, so forgive me if I've overlooked it, but the object (I believe it to be a UFO not a comet; combined with it looking like a ship, but not a saucer) on top of the moon isn't the only one. There are actually 3 of these objects on the shirt. The similarity between the top of UFO1 and UFO3 are quite clear, and UFO2 is the tail end as it shoots "out of shot".

In the comparison photo, it's clear all 3 are the same UFO at slightly different angles.

These came out a little smaller than expected. If you're having a hard time, I can repost in full size.

Here's the full size shot of my shirt, click the 800x600 one for a 4MB 10MP version:

These have been pointed out in a few places, but other than quick speculation, I don't think anyone really discussed it.

I think if you put all three pieces together, you can get a full view of what I believe to be one of captain coop's actual fleet. . .and since there are three of them, I can only surmise that the boy and his father (?) aren't looking up at the moon, but at the launching of some great attack. That was my first thought when they were first pointed out at least.

it can probably be chalked up to artistic license, but UFO2's trail actually is in the foreground in front of the father.

This is the only observation that diverts me from the position that this is a space fleet the son and father are looking at. I think it may just be a very bad screenprint job across the board. Or perhaps maybe the images were not screenprinted properly and they are looking at some sort of fleet.

Or maybe just an 'aged' look for what's supposed to be a vintage shirt design print?

i believe the objects to be rocket pops or whatever the lollies are being called. if you look at them they appear to have a kind of stick at the back end, as if we were viewing them on their side.

(sorry, haven't posted in ages but i have been lurking away Wink )

I don't see that being the case as the boy has a rocket pop in his hands.
