Popsicle Analysis and Comic Con Clues
There's new stuff that crosses subjects

So much new cool stuff has appeared this week Cool

Was trying to figure where to post this, but it crosses Rocketpopeteer.com,comic con, new RP.com, Braegen etc., so fresh forum for fresh speculation...

As cool and exciting as the Ice-Cream Van is, misdirection all the way. There's clues embedded in this stuff to rise us from our frustration and provide new, fresh and equally obsessive directions... Or at least I hope.... And so consider this a call to arms following the recent drought, for a welcome return to clue crunching Very Happy

To start with, NEW STUFF!!

Introducing Coops-Correlation Popsicle Matrix Wink
See attached image

Taking the badges and the flavors and generating a logic matrix, there's some interesting findings (which may be lack of info and will be filled in).

1. Where is Brain Fleet?
2. Saturn Blast Fleet is not listed as a recognised fleet
3. Based on correlations; I reckon Brain Fleet==Saturn Blast Fleet (because every badge-flavour combo is present in it's own family (ie. correlates with self-pretty robust pattern)
4. To whose fleet does Watermelon belong??

I may be reading too much into badges, but it seems pretty deliberate! If anyone OWNS 1. A Brain fleet badge, or 2. A Watermelon flavoured Fleet please post them... (I never thought I'd be scientifically analysisng popsicle flavours!!)

==> Infact I am lost in my own time so have no idea about CC world; if someone's there they could ask for the above 2 badges to test the idea

Next, what on earth is on the "moon" on the T-Shirts. Notice how the logo has again changed, and appears to be in a different phase. What is the whitish thing the chaps are pointing at?? Lucky individuals who own one of these converted T-Shirts, can you comment?? Intentional?? Has anyone tried holding their T-shirt under a UV light?? If not, try...Seriously....

Any more for any more???.... Things not known:
1. Relation of Amblin films
2. If Brain Fleet==Saturn Blast, does that help?? Why was it left out
3. Did the icecream van take a deliberate route (i.e. meta-clues??)
4. Why are there 2 identical moons on Twitter page background
5. Is the new central planet different from others? We systematically being given lots of Saturn based stuff, can we use this fact
6.What is the significance of the Fleet Names??
- Twin Teamwork == Cooper and Pete Conrad
- Sonic Strength=??Rocket Sled (Capt Cooper Tested)
- Brain=Braegen=Saturn Blast??
-Super Speedflier??

Mr. Green

WOW!
just wow

I really like your thinking!
Especially the chart Rock On

Tho, if you look at the changes in the RP logo, you will notice one item you left out: The Kid's leg in relation to the "T" in ROCKET!

Re: rplogos.003.jpg ...
In image No. 1, only his right leg is showing.
In image 2 and 3, both legs are showing
And in image 4, his legs are back to the point of image 1.

Re: RPtee.009.jpg ...
With your text, "What is this???" ... Look down to where the kid's leg is!
What is THAT???!
It's not on any of the other three RP logos.

btw ...
THX for the updates!!!

I noticed the strange fading on the T Shirt printing but chalked it up to cheap quality freebie print work. Never crossed my mind to possibly be a clue. Looks like if it were something then it would possibly be carried over to the non printed portion of the shirt. I also find the item at the boys legs to be odd, almost looks like a rock formation. I do hope some of our UF brethren are able to put a black light to the T Shirt. My curiosity is now peaked, nice work.

Any thought to adding the hat and ice cream wrapping to this analysis as well?

I made my desktop background the TWITTER B/G image Smile ...

Tho, here's a close up of the POP wrapper:

[img]FAIL ... sorry

I was also thinking of changing my AVATAR to that of "Coop" from this image, but it's kinda blurry.

Sad

Thanks, that would be a solid pic of Coop to use as an Avatar. I did the same thing with the Twitter background, my wife laughed at me. I have a feeling when the site opens up there will be some nice color images to be had.

Look at the lettering-It looks like it is overlaying an image, whether we are going to get access to it or not (kinda reminds me of one of the intercuts)

I don't think this one is a mystery (at least not unto itself) — apparently Spielberg is attached to SUPER 8 through Amblin' in order to separate the project from DreamWorks, in effect making his producer connection more Spielberg-only.

Not sure of the reason yet, often these distinctions have nothing to do with the film itself and are just business decisions. Other times they involve access to rights-owned material... in this case, SUPER 8 relates to Spielberg's early (pre-DreamWorks) films, so dealing only with Spielberg's company *may* simplify some things.

At any rate, Amblin' = Spielberg alone, and this makes a great deal of sense in terms of JJ making SUPER 8 and how he tells that story. Judging from the exterior of this production, at least.

Umm .. Spielberg's FIRST Super 8 movie was actually called "AMBLIN'".

I know, I've seen it ... I used to own a 16mm copy.
(lost in a fire Crying or Very sad )

::::Looking for a link::::

EDIT:
Quote:
As an intern and guest of Universal Studios, Spielberg made his first short film for theatrical release, the 24 minute film Amblin' (1968), the title of which Spielberg later took as the name of his production company, Amblin Entertainment.

Yes, that's quite common knowledge. I was referring to the production company distinction and what it means to the film, not the actual film reference. Maybe I misinterpreted what Multi meant there though.

I'll add this: so few people have seen AMBLIN' the film, I'm not sure what value there would be to audiences next summer if JJ references it in homage in S8. It would make a good Easter Egg for a few fans (uFers to be sure), but an homage would fly over the heads of 99% of viewers.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course! Very Happy

Plus, Spielberg made AMBLIN' in 1968... it really doesn't fit into his major motion picture '70s-'80s canon, which we're told is the period JJ will reference. Hell, it precedes his TV work by a couple years, and DUEL by 3 years which is the film many would consider the one that jump-started his reputation.

Haven't really seen Speilburgs early work, and certainly haven't seen AMBLIN. I wanted to try and put JJ 's comments in context:

Quote:
But anyway, years later…this was a couple years ago…I called Steven and I said, "I have an idea for a movie called Super 8." And I just sort of pitched him. And he was very excited about it. Because I knew, in a weird sort of way, having worked on those movies, I had a sense of what he had done when he was a kid......

.....And the movie is, I think, very much in the spirit of some of the Amblin films that he made years ago.

Reading wiki is not the same as seeing the film, but I presume he's talking more than "super-8" footage and maybe about the style/feel of the film?? Was wondering if anyone could expand on that??

On the image: RPtee.009.jpg

im going to call it the ''thing'' on the moon...it kinda has the shape a bit like a shuttle or even the lolly, but..

the strange white thing over the moon looks to be to be the same thing that is down by the boys knee. i thought it was a mountain rage as mentioned, but the more i looked at it the more they seem to match.

the boys knee would be covering the bit that points down at the front of the thing and the 'T' in poppeteers it cutting off the bottom bits.

could be bad printing and totally unintentional (i wonder if any other shirts have this??) but dont know. the fact that they arent mirror images of each other made me think its not just becuz the shirt has been folded over on itself.

Hasn't been asked... but there has been no indication as to where the tuck will be as of yet. My guess is that the truck will not be travelling outside the country, but will be seen in other major cities in the US.

I'm hoping that we'll get T-Shirts, buttons, and hats in the mail for those of us who couldn't see the truck in person!

Looks like there are some others with the same strange printing/markings. I would post more pics but I am getting a pass thru warning.

Yeah that would be nice. There's no chance that I would get one. Hopefully there is something new we can send in soon for a trade. Razz
