[OT] Flynn's Arcade @ SDCC 2010 - Location, Info & Pics

I'm creating this topic because there are a more than a few folks interested in visiting Flynn's Arcade this year.

Most folks are asking the same questions, so I thought I would provide all the info we know so far and others can update as they get more and better info.

Where will Flynn's Arcade be located?

CloneTommy took this picture a few days ago, but didn't provide the address:

This picture CONFIRMS that Flynn's Arcade will be reopening in the same location as last year!

The address is:

335 6th Street
San Diego, CA 92101

Here is a picture from Google Maps to show that it is the correct address.
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=335+6th+Ave,+San+Diego,+CA+92101&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=335+6th+Ave,+San+Diego,+California+92101&gl=us&ei=oqdCTKSVBYGcsQPtwoXwDA&ved=0CBMQ8gEwAA&t=h&layer=c&cbll=32.708789,-117.159216&panoid=yjiF5lvGmMxsYRgm8M50dw&cbp=12,87.66,,0,5.01&z=16

When will Flynn's Arcade be open?
Flynn's Arcade will be open to the public from Thursday, July 22 to Saturday, July 24.

What are the hours of operation?
Last year, Flynn's was only open in the evenings. This year, that may be different, especially since Disney is really pushing Tron to the general public.

UPDATE July 19: below are the hours of operation, Disney is indeed pushing the marketing of Tron with the "extended" hours below.

Hours of Operation

Thursday: I don't know.
Friday- 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
Saturday- 1:00 pm - Midnight!

Do I have to pay to play the games in the arcade?
Last year, all the games were FREE with unlimited credits.

Is there parking for Flynn's?
There is NO parking lot for Flynn's. Street parking will be in high demand as well, so I suggest parking in any of the "Public" Parking lots and structures. Rates will vary, so pay attention.

How long can I stay in the Arcade?
As with last year, due to the popularity of Flynn's, they will let visitors in in groups and set a time limit for how long they can stay. After your time limit is up, your group will be escorted out of the Arcade.

Do I need a ticket to Comic Con to get into Flynn's Arcade?
If it's anything like last year, NO you do not need a ticket to Comic Con to visit the arcade. All you need to do is get to Flynn's Arcade (address above) and get in line.

Will they be handing out swag and loot at Flynn's Arcade?
Last year, upon exiting Flynn's they handed out T-shirts (Flynn Lives and Flynn's Arcade), posters, Flynn's Arcade Tickets and Tokens, so the likelihood is high they'll be doing the same this year.

Will the full size replica Lightcycle be at the Arcade?
Maybe, but there is a high likelihood it will be on the Convention floor this year. Last year, it was a surprise reveal, this year it's a promotional display for the movie.[/u]

CT, Thanks for the new pic.

I looked at your previous posts and did see mention that it was the same building, but didn't see mention of the actual address. My bad if I missed it! Embarassed

I created this topic so people didn't have to hunt and peck for the info on Flynn's Arcade. I'll be posting pics of Flynn's once I get a chance to visit and I hope other folks, like yourself, do the same.

Wow. You know, that looks like the actual Flynn's sign from the movie.

You can still see the mounting marks on the Hull building (now that Akasha restaurant and star of the "Flip that Restaurant" show that never made it past 1 episode on TLC), and from speaking with people at Disney I've been told they've kept in storage ever since filming wrapped. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney leant the sign to 42E.

I couldn't get any info on when the Arcade will open on Thursday. I hope it will open right after the Hall H Panel, but can you imagine the stampede of fans that will run over there? It'll be scary!

I'm wondering if the Arcade opening will have anything to do with the mission setup with Identity Raid and the countdown....

I think the countdown is associated with the release of the next film trailer, that includeds new footage?
