Most Likely, the ARGLab / UT-D ARG
I received an email press release from Cray Cook last night, announcing the formation of a new company in the cheap laptops for kids industry, attempting to enter the market pioneered by OLPC. Text of the email and the press release are below. Cray and her partner discovered a small metal box while unpacking their new office, and are trying to figure out what it does.

From a cursory glance over the site, there are a number of points of engagement. Two active phone numbers, forums, twitter, craigslist, vimeo, and a PO Box listed, for starters.

My suspicion that this is the ARGLab game stems from a couple factors: in particular, the timing of the launch (early April), and a PO Box located in Plano, TX (a few miles from the UT-D campus).

 		I live 2.5 miles from UTD and have been looking for a good place to jump back into ARGing. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

 		I only watched the most recent video, so I don't know if this is consistent, but there are intermittent cuts in the video of static. Message hidden in the bit sream?

 		The picture where it says "Can you believe that chair" - the filename is keysincabinet.jpg.

I'm sure if we download the picture and look in the 'cabinet', or it's general layer location, we'll find something shopped.

Well it's a jpeg so no layers. I did download it and played around a bit with contrast and brightness to see if anything popped up. Nada. Could be stegged but I don't have destagging software on this comp. I think it's just a picture of the cabinet they found the keys dangling from (there are some keys in the picture)

So do we know if this has already kicked off? There is a ton of content to dig into here. 3 or 4 websites. a forum. twitter. phone numbers. I'll start to try to weed out the in-game from the OOG stuff and I want to call those phone numbers.

 		The plot seems to be centering on this mystery-box-from-the-future: my guess is we're in the "background information" gathering stage, and things will ramp up afterwards.

For now, the priorities should probably be:
1) call the two telephone numbers to find out if they're automated messages or live people; and
2) make some form of contact with the two characters so we don't come off as overly weird once the crazy stuff starts going down.
