Well, JJ Abrams is Japan fan, and I'm always happy if his PMs bring Japan in game. So I can help with translation - like with Cloverfield (Kishin), or Star Trek (Sargash - or how was the name of those Japanese Romulan?). I like to be useful Smile

In Cloverfield there was those evil Japanese company Tagruato behind the drink "Slusho" - and perhaps also behind awakening of the monster.

Who knows, perhaps here will be some another Japanese stuff? Like manufacturer of this Ice is actually in Japan or so. (I agree, at the time it's a little bit difficult to think out a appropriate part for Japan) Smile

haha, actually I'm also Japan fan, so everything about Japan is not random for me, lol.

But this is absolutely random (was popping out in my twitter right now), but I like it:

The history of ice cream. Who knows, who knows?

@Comadarkvale
You're welcome. And: Hehe! Thule Society? Who knows, who knows. This theme comes sometimes in various ARGs here, if PMs are about to cultivate paranoia among players or so Very Happy
Anyway, I'm just always looking for Japanese themes in ARGs around here. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes very confusing (if they are coming from 2ch or like Junko Junsui Shocked )

hehe @Tenshi, nice to have you onboard again.
I mean, if JJ Abrams lets write the screenplay to Cloverfield and comic prequel - completely in Japanese, without translation into English - he is in this case huge Japan fan Smile

Even if those Slusho advert was a little bit cheesy and stereotypical
http://merzmensch.blogspot.com/2008/01/cloverfield-slusho-werbung.html
On the other hand, the Japanese fake news were awesome!

OK, people, good night, Gute Nacht, お休みなさい、спокойной ночи.
I'm not productive anymore today. Tomorrow is another day Smile

Anyway, on the image you can see that the code starts with V(...-)N(-.)R(.-.)

Agreed that's a much better way to do it (how DID people manage that by ear??!!)... Still believe one channel is a repeating message, starting at -....

With the following I have spliced at the -.... to capture the front of the message

The second channel is noisy and difficult to make sense of, but does appear to have something else.

All I can find for this is someones call sign, and a batch of pretty OOG looking sites. Any advances?? (& I tried it on STIES)

P.S. All the info has been posted, but not in a fetching green table Laughing

Could these be ham radio callsign's

Ham Operator call signs?

I considered that and ran it through a USA look up, (Wikipedia said that there's an international search engine for these--Callbook.com--but it was down when I went):

http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/results.jsp

Couldn't find anything, though.

There's QRZ,com and Hamcall.net to look up callsigns. I hope they didn't just record someone IDing automatically via code and use that. From the looks of W6VNR's info I have serious doubts that's anyone having to do with Rocket Poppeteers.

SITREP = Situation Report, basically requesting the status of the situation

And the more obvious ones are:

ETA = Estimated Time of Arrival

Over = End of Transmission

Copy = Understood

Groom Lake One = The transport vehicle ("One" is the Vehicle designator and "Groom Lake" is the location it came from)

When they refer to Groom Lake "One" it could imply that there are other transports leaving the same location as they would be designated as Groom Lake Two, Three, etc.

Edit: Lol, when I saw the question mark I thought you were wondering what SITREP meant. My apologies.
