You can't add money to the phone unless you know the pin number to the account. At least on mine.

On the contrary, you do NOT need the V-Key (Virgin Mobile's account PIN) to add funds to a phone number. All you need is the number and you can go to the website and enter that and a valid airtime PIN code (balance serial number). I have done this many many times, including when I added $10 to SpaceBass' phone...

...er... I mean I have no idea who added $10 to Space's phone...

I mean, uh, somebody added?...

Never mind.

Hey sowasred2012, just out of interest - and seeing as this ARG is in a bit of a hiatus at the moment - from one londoner to another, where was the pitcell drop for the London phone and wallet?

Also, did you go to the IMAX cinema in February? Was it busy? Were they giving away T-shirts there?

Cheers dude!

I seriously doubt it'll stay that way. I give it two weeks max before we start having some more fun!

as a PC guy, is it oxymoronic to put an 89 4EVER sticker next to an Apple sticker?

Yep, definitely looking forward to an end of the hiatus!

As a PC guy as well, the Apple sticker is there due to my love of Radiohead rather than my love of Apple computers... If you look closely there's a "This is built for Windows XP" sticker near the volume and tone controls!

Btw, isn't it weird that flynnlives.com has yet to be updated? What's going on? Confused

The drop was in the basement of Selfridges, there's a store there that (at the time) had a lone arcade cabinet with an 8-bit game on it for sale. That's where the girl in the Flynn Lives shirt was.

And, yeah, the IMAX was packed out (luckily AgentLex was there way before me, spotted me in the queue and saved me a decent seat - legend!), and they gave away XL shirts.

It's been weeks since SDCC, guys. What is 42 waiting for? Sorry, it's just a little off-putting to have a massive event like the arcade/nightclub combo and nothing to follow it up with online! What's going on?

Dude, the week following was likely taken up with the follow up for the Comic Con event, a ton of stuff goes into those events after they are done (everything from the arcade would need to be inventoried and stored again, evaluations of the event need to be performed, have to handle the outside people like closing the contract with the building they rented for the arcade). If 42E is a very small operation that is running multiple ARGs like I figure it probably is then it is possible that can take two weeks. Then there is likely a week or two before the next event to allow for hiring temps and all that stuff. If they are planning to do something big again then it is going to take some time. If we're going to get a minor update, next week seems likely for that.

Patience dude.

Exactly! We gotta give 42E some time. They are doing a awesome job on this ARG. We should really be thankful for all of the efforts they have put into this ARG. From the free swags to the achievments, and many websites.. lets just have patience on what is next to come!

Its good that the phones got topped off, hopefully they'll have a role in the game to come.

Remember the movie doesn't release until December (which is entirely too far away), so the game needs to reach its peak just before release. I'd expect something to happen in September and keep moving forward at a steady pace.

And do the people who got the phones keep them with them (like in their purse/bookbag)? Obviously a few people check them every so often but I wonder how many of those phones are pretty much ignored.

And I wonder if a player can add money to the phone, I know if I could I'd be using it since it looked like a nice phone. It'd be really awesome if 42E had uploaded some Tron ringtones onto them too!

Philly phone was topped off as well.

to answer these questions:
i have the phone within earshot most of the time, always with a charge in my bag. i do check it occasionally. it needs a charge once a week. i've hardly gotten any unsolicited calls these past 2 months. it's a throwaway cell, nothing special about it. wish it came preloaded with wallpapers or ringtones.
i do use it on occasion (if i leave my everyday phone somewhere). i sent a text from it on Thurs and it took 5 mins to number-pad type on it as it doesn't have a full keyboard.

thank you for answering!

as for the ARG: the whole "end of line" title at the club seemed rather final, especially with the recording at that phone #. It's my feeling it's over. I'm hoping it's NOT, but ...
