[SPEC] Are we overlooking PRJ's importance?

Forgive me if I'm repeating stuff here, I have had a trawl through the archives and found very little discussion on PRJ. I think we might be overlooking some hints present on the Paranormal Research Journal - I don't think it's just backstory. Look at previous issues - a collection of random and, paranormal angle aside, thematically unrelated events. Then look at this month. Sleep paralysis; prophecy; oracles; metagraphology; and, right at the bottom of the page, a piece on the Minotaur.

Dina describes sleep paralysis in her Blog (we all know this, I know)

Metagraphology could well be relevant in learning more about the hackers, perhaps - it is on there for a reason; I don't think that it is superfluous. With the variety of fonts used in some of the hacker conversations, it might be interesting to go back into some of the images and look again with this in mind. It's also worth noting that one of the hacker extensions was .graffle - which might again be a hint about metaGRAPHOLogy.

The Minotaur - well, according to legend, he lived in a labyrinth....

As for the prophecy side of things, it's mentioned in no fewer than 5 articles, so I would guess that it must have some significance.

What's in a name? Well, as noted above, .graffle does sound like a shortening of graphology. Speculation has been posted about the Nekodas and the biblical exiled families. What other names should we be digging into?

Maybe I'm just spouting here, and feel free to tell me (I am a newb, so I fully expect that I've probably gone over something someone else has said). I just think that the PRJ could be guiding us - don't forget who the editor is, after all.

The problem with PRJ is that it doesn't gets uptaded and with so much going on else where we tend to forget it. I think it's very important, just don't know how.
Another thing that we don't seem to be paying attention to is that Philip hasn't aswered Beth's e-mails for a while and his DexTop is a mess right now. Maybe he's missing (?)

"Are we overlooking PRJ's importance?"

Well...

There used to be this online journal I'd read where the guy would hide all sorts of stuff in his comment codes. He was kind of a punk, anyhow, but I loved pulling up that source code and seeing some sort of diplomatically-veiled comment about his job, and the commented smack. Also coming under his knife were former girlfriends, relatives, and the guy at the bus stop who always pissed him off. It seemed like everyone knew about the comments in the source code; a best-kept secret right out in the open.

This is taken from the Missing Ethan website.

Talk amongst yourselves. I gotta go to lunch.

Well, I always thought the picture in the lower right hand corner of the main page looked "fishy"...

I tried enlarging, but it's just too small to make out any detail, like what's printed in the lower right hand corner, or what the heck those little "bumps" are to the left of the purple bar on the left side.

This letter was in Wongmo's mailbag the week of the 25th:

Quote:
From: P.G.

I've written and rewritten this letter a dozen times, each time stripping a little part
of it, a part of myself, away. I know that you always say you crave simplicity and
straightforwardness in all things. I wanted NOT to drown you in wordiness, but
instead to tell you as directly as I could, how I feel.

(You'll probably never even see this, so what should it matter?)

I've learned so much about myself in the time I've spent with you. Seeing your passion
for the world around you, your curiosity, I've myself begun spotting connections in the
little electric impulses of life, those unseen things than hold us together. I see, and FEEL,
sense, where before there was only chaos. And I have only you to thank.

I've devoted my life to debunking the improbable and explaining the unexplainable. I've
spent hours draining the mystery out of the cup of life before I hand it back, dry and
dessicated, to people who only wanted to believe in powers greater than themselves. Never
before did I appreciate how wonderful it felt to be held in the thrall of something wild,
something that couldn't be scientifically proven or analyzed to within an inch of its life.

Now that I feel that thrall, now that I'm able to put the cynicism of my younger days aside
for the purity of love, I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my days basking in that
glow. Please, dear song of my soul....share this moment with me.

Forever yours.

Answer:

Well.....Thank you for the kind words. Wongmo feels the same way about all of his students!

The last time we heard from Phil Gairden (P.G) was the 25th. Coincidence?

You're right, that's the last time we heard anything from Phil....

but what's that got to do with the Paranormal Research Journal?

Phillip is the editor of the PRJ. It's what he's referring to when he says in that letter to Wongmo that he's spent his life explaining the unexplainable and such. Could be why we haven't seen any updates to the journal yet.

Oh, ok... I thought you meant the letter had something specifically to do with the PRJ.

That letter is pretty weird though, isn't it?

Yeah, I'd noticed that Phil seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. I suspect it had something to do with him going into Leo Kane's room to snap all those photos. He must have been caught...well, no, he posted them in his metadex. He must have "run" into Wongmo and/or Kane later on...and he was brainwashed. Wongmo seems pretty good at that sort of thing. Hence the letter in Wongmo's mailbox... and who knows what Phil's been doing since? Channeling his inner dolphin? "Eeee! eeee!"

Heh, I can just imagine... "Professor...are you all right?" "Eeee eee eeee!"
So, I can only conclude that he's spent the last week or so in a mental institution. Mr. Green
