Despite living 30 minutes from Charles Town, WVA it is still 4 to 5 hours from my house...they better actually be filming there in Sept otherwise I'm gonna be pissed.

I find it interesting that a simple wikipedia lookup revealed that the original movie's tagline is "Don't let the title fool you," possibly a little hint that it really is just a fake production title.

That makes sense. And totally seems like something they'd do.

Haha, I love how they do things like that. Razz

Except for the fact that Abrams was creator/executive producer of the series FELICITY for four seasons, which is entirely fitting a (possible) remake of LITTLE DARLINGS. Abrams IS Bad Robot.

Newspaper clip about casting call

Thought it was interesting that the article said "Sonya Tormoen, Paramount Pictures extras casting agent, stated she is having people sign up and get their picture and their measurements taken because it is a period piece."

In the time period the article references, people were not as obese as today--in fact when you look at older movies where there are crowd scenes (or stock footage), it is rare to see many who are overweight.

And in the late 70s it was hard to find many moving their disco boogie shakin' behinds to the latest Bee Gees' hit that were portly.

To have a casting call at a 5k event seemed like the perfect place to find ones of the appropriate "measurement" for the time period.

Got to love the incredible investigative skills of the news meda.
"A film about a train wreck in a steel town, and how it comes together to heal."
Rolling Eyes

Uh...

Aliens? Area 51? Creature smashing its way out of a train car?

Someone might want to toss said reporter an email. Unlikely they want to admit they are clueless though.

Actually, a film about a train wreck in a small town that brings them all together to heal sounds like a huge technicolor yawn to me..

Now, add some Alien/Area 52 spice to that recipe and you have a real thriller..

But you would think they had at least seen the trailer...Guess news travels kinda slow out thar in dem rural townships.. Wink

Hello all, I'm new to the forums. I found this site last night while searching on the IMDB boards for info on this movie. I live in Shadyside, OH, which is about 36 miles south of Weirton, WV.

I went to an open casting call for extras today in Wheeling, WV, right across the river from here. I wouldn't have even known about the casting call if I didn't accidentally flip to the 11 o'clock news last night when they had a 30 second spot saying it started at 5pm. After doing some searching online, I found only one site that mentioned any details about the casting call, here, which said that the call began at 3, not 5 like the news said.

I showed up about 2:45, there were about 35 people there when I arrived, and when I left at around 3:30 there were maybe 90 people that had shown up. Obviously there were no details about the movie given out there, but if something works out and I get an extra part in the film, I'll let you all know what I can, when I can...

o0xerog0o;

Welcome! Be sure to read the game summary, use the "search" button liberally, and don't feel bad if you get the trout--it happens to us all.

Euchre,

In looking at the "newsclip" what a joke, right? Just watching the complete trailer (which they had a handful of seconds shown) might have given them a tad more credibility. It's the news director that needs to take the hit, as it's what they say that goes out to the viewers, but there's enough blame to go around--you'd have thunk someone might have googled the whole thing.

Hello everyone! I've been following this board for quite some time, and finally decided to register.

(Feel free to trout)
Something has bothered me ever since Weirton appeared. For some reason, because of the Craigslist sales, I thought the movie was actually taking place in West Virginia. It perplexed me as to how a train leaving Area 51, on it's way to Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio could crash in West Virginia. This bothered me because I'm anal like that. Rolling Eyes

Well, I noticed during that news clip, that the concept art of the school had the Ohio state flag. Needless to say, I can sleep at night now. Wink
