I searched the standee with the lightcycle and rider last night at the AMC in Citywalk at Universal Orlando. No QR or barcode at all. Even in the hard to look spots.

The encom logo and barcode are not on the standee. This is a separate poster located next to the standee. I'm on a friends computer right now, when I get back home I will try to get a photo on here. Will probably be later tonight or tomorrow.

also, can anyone read/decode the tiny writing in the background of the page or is it just there to look pretty?

Zoomed in on the text and to over 1000% and it is just a blur. I'd say just there to look pretty. Also, I jumped over to the Encom intranet and the SYSTEM UNDER MAINTENANCE message is still present. not sure if this is actually in game or just a game jack....

The Space channel is going to have a booth there. If you have the time stop by and ask them why Hyperspace has not touched the Flynn Lives campaign.

Ah sorry, just got this message now.

re: QR Code signs
That's awesome. I don't think this is ARG-related though, more promotional material in-universe. In theory, Disney could allow any theatre willing to 'partner' for the film the right to set up a page with the Encom PR template for their own theatres. The QR code would obviously just point to that page.
*shrug* that's just how I'm seeing this... cool, nonetheless

I am pretty sure this may be the next part of the ARG. I see no reasons why it wouldn't be. Well, hopefully something more pops up on wednesday.

Excellent! Let's hope this is part of the next viral.
There's a Regal at the local mall that I go to, and the last time I went I saw the lightcycle stand. I think I'll go back there again tomorrow and see if there's an Encom sign.

There is nothing of interest in the page source. I personally doubt this is part of the ARG, simply a way to get folks to be more interactive with the in-theater marketing.

The problem of it is the press release itself....

The wording isn't right for in game. Why would Encom want to make a movie about the disappearance of their CEO. If it were to "bring the world of Tron alive for viewers" why would they want to talk about a dark mark of their history. If they were to focus on the story of Tron as based on the game it would be soley on the events of the first movie minus the crossover from the real world to the digital world.

Also, if this was ingame, it would lead to more than just a press release I looked at the source and it's basic html. There is also no listing or mention of partnerships on the Encom International site either. I believe this is just as thebruce stated:

I'm leaning toward somebody with the theater/chain trying to do a little guerrilla marketing without either Disney or 42E's buy-in or assistance.
It makes no real sense on any level.

It is a real theater. Plus the 2 movie theaters (AMC Universal Citywalk Orlando and the Viera Rave theater) at which I've seen the Tron Legacy standee haven't had the Encom posters accompanying them.

I think its a promotional effort for certain theaters else we see it more widespread.
