Hi, all! I think this is only my second time here, but my first catching the start of an ARG, so SUPER PSYCHED. I've wanted to get stuck into one for a while now, but never seem to get one before it becomes a big, long 400 page epic.

I cleaned up that audio, and got rid of almost all of the background whoosh sound. Pitched it slightly, results are here. BW = Backwards, FW = Forwards. Voice is still all messed up, definitely human, not synthetic, but it has been run through so many destructive filters it's hard to discern anything but random syllables. I don't know if any words I hear are actually there, or my head trying to make sense of what it is I'm hearing and making stuff up. Played forwards, it sounds sort of like "Don't go on, don't go on, [something something]", backwards sounds like "He's not worth it at all [something something]."

Also, I couldn't get to the site, either, and was asked to download a file. No idea about that.

Me too. I mean, intellectually I was like 'pft, the blurring and black eyes bit is kind of amateurish' but it was - pretty freaky all the same.

Interesting bit; at the very beginning of when the weirdness starts, there's /another him/ in the clip for a brief moment, standing facing away next to him. Perhaps a clue that this is some sort of Possession rather than an external figure?

Or maybe I'm reading too much into this.

Amandel; where was the ASCII art? I didn't see any...

During my conversation with him in the comments, I pointed out that the woods looked the same as the one that was shown in his video. He said:

There's a new blog post on the 'it is all empty'. It's actually an audio clip more than anything. To me at first it sounded like a typical slowed down song, but eventually you can hear moans and groans. I assume it's someone speaking, but slowed a lot. I'm not big with audio, but I'm gonna try and see if I can fix it up.

I can't take credit for it, Amandel -- Merago got the initial PM/posted the trailhead, so credit where it's due! I just was really bored that day so started compiling things and talking to GBJ.

Good work there, Duckman. Hrm. Maybe ITAE is warning that GBJ is changing into/being possessed by something somehow, but it can still be stopped?

As a side note, at least one known online comedian is embroiled in it some how, That Guy With The Glasses, otherwise known as The Nostalgia Critic. Whether he knows what's going on or not, I dunno, but either way that makes things even more interesting.

New code just posted to the tumblr account. I don't know what it is. I thought it might be reverse numeric cipher, but that didn't work. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

It definitely looks like he's going to a different cipher.

Still, it's probably not too complex... I'll work on it today, and maybe someone else'll figure something out in the meantime.

I'm completely new to the whole cipher thing, other than knowing it is a totally awesome sounding word, but I recognise a syllable in the sequence, the 23-13. Like "Th" or "Sh" or something like that. Any who, tried those two, and now I can't remember any damn syllables.

Edit:If your wondering how I got in I copied and pasted something from the HTML format "www.greatbigjerk.net/[ ~~I forgot, Sorry~~ ]" and it lead me to a sort of download. Then I shortened the url and it led me to www.greatbigjerk.net/blog (there was an error), finally I clicked on the BLOG part at the top and got in. *wipes forehead* Smile
