Quadruple post?

Sandawicha found another QR code hidden in this page:
http://godslakepost.com/?p=175

The link to the QR code is:
http://godslakepost.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/ithinkyounotafool.pdf

The QR code URL is:
http://mobile.thegodslake.com/qr4.mp4

The video is the clue "E" and the voice says:
Quote:
We have only frail human heroes, and when they fade, die and become ghosts themselves, what will become of us?

The "Decoder" clue is called "The Ghost Dance" and the image is of Sitting Bull. I found this on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Dance
Quote:
To help support the Sioux during the period of transition, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) was to supplement the Sioux with food and to hire white farmers as teachers for the people. The farming plan failed to take into account the difficulty which Sioux farmers would have in trying to cultivate crops in the semi-arid region of South Dakota. By the end of the 1890 growing season, a time of intense heat and low rainfall, it was clear that the land was unable to produce substantial agricultural yields. Unfortunately, this was also the time when the government's patience with supporting the so-called "lazy Indians" ran out. They cut rations for the Sioux in half. With the bison having been virtually eradicated a few years earlier, the Sioux were at risk for starvation.

The people turned to the Ghost Dance ritual, which frightened the supervising agents of the BIA. Kicking Bear was forced to leave Standing Rock, but when the dances continued unabated, Agent McLaughlin asked for more troops. He claimed the Hunkpapa spiritual leader Sitting Bull was the real leader of the movement. A former agent, Valentine McGillycuddy, saw nothing extraordinary in the dances and ridiculed the panic that seemed to have overcome the agencies, saying: "The coming of the troops has frightened the Indians. If the Seventh-Day Adventists prepare the ascension robes for the Second Coming of the Savior, the United States Army is not put in motion to prevent them. Why should not the Indians have the same privilege? If the troops remain, trouble is sure to come."

Nonetheless, thousands of additional U.S. Army troops were deployed to the reservation. On December 15, 1890, Sitting Bull was arrested for failing to stop his people from practicing the Ghost Dance. During the incident, a Sioux witnessing the arrest fired at one of the soldiers, prompting an immediate retaliation; this exchange resulted in deaths on both sides, including that of Sitting Bull.

Dead Drop results

Hey everyone.

My friend has recovered three beaded bracelets from the statue. He looked intently for a message/note/anything else, but couldn't find anything.

I should receive the bracelets tomorrow, and I will post pictures before analyzing anything.

I do believe the beads are morse code, and the only way to get the message is by having all three bracelets... We'll see if I'm right!

ETA:
I'm confident the first code is:
Code:
-.. -... .- .- -.. . -. -.. .. --.. .. .-- .. -.
or
-. -- ..- -- --.. -- --. -. - --. .- .- ---. --.

Which decrypt to:
Code:

DBAADENDIZIWIN
or
NMUMZMGNTGAA!G

This is based on the "Z" (--..) to which there is no "swap" code (IE from ..--)

If I had to guess which one is correct, I'd say my money is on the former (because the ! seems misplaced).

Interesting Reply from Dr. Grey

After I sent the image of the beads he replied:
Quote:
Beads, an astute observation regarding their coded potential! I shall post this to the blog for everyone to see, perhaps we can disentangle their meaning together. Sometimes the messages in these things are more obvious than they would appear at first.

Yours,

Declan

I had speculated in my e-mail to him that maybe the beads needed to be together to be interpreted as one message. The tone of his last line suggests that a message might be more simple to decode. Anyone have ideas?

Sitting Bull PDF
It's another encrypted RAR!!!

Once again, download the PDF and change the extension to a .RAR

Then double click it (if you have a RAR uncompression utility ETA: I use WinRAR) and it will prompt for a password.

Just found this, but haven't tried guessing at the password.

I'm attaching it as a RAR for those that don't know how to change the extension...

whats with the strange sentences?

one consistency with these codes is they always come up with some strange and random sentence, they do mean something but, when will we find something...you know, earth shattering?

I think the letter A is missing between the D and B in the bracelet. The word DABAADENDIZIWIN is the Anishinaabe word for Humility. It's one of the teachings of the Seven Grandfathers.

*eta - I've been having a dialog with Tristan about the local mythology in the God's Lake area. The professor wanted me to ask him about The Seven Grandfathers of Ogashiinan.

To recap, I've learned that his mother is Anishinaabe and she's always told him stories about the spirituality of the people of the God's Lake area. How they've always accepted the mystical and natural forces that makes the region what it is. So he was very surprised how everyone has reacted when he asks them about the cultural myths and legends. They act like they don't know what he's talking about. He says they act, like they're under a spell.

As for the Seven Grandfathers of Ogashiinan, he says they're like an urban myth, a sort of aboriginal secret society...

Tristan wrote:
They're known as sort of aboriginal secret society whose primary aim is to ensure that The Mother, Gaia, is never defiled by man, that spiritual balance and harmony is always maintained in the regions lived in by humans. To achieve this aim, they live by the code of the Seven Grandfathers, but are never seen and never heard.

Principally speaking they are generations old, but the name by which they are now known now I think is somewhat more recent. They are apparently comprised of the Anishinaabe and Cree peoples, which may seem odd, but, there's something my Mother told me about the Gods' Lake Cree that brings sense to it all. You see, the Ojibwe people, also known as Anishinaabeg, traveled west because of what is known as the Prophecy of the Seven Fires. The Third Fire in the Prophecy promised them abundant lands, leading them far north into Manitoba--and one of these places would turn out to be Gods Lake. As such, some people say that the Cree people there are really Anishinaabe people, and some say that Cree people and Anishinaabe people became one, like the Oji-Cree.

He's said he wouldn't be surprised if they organized the protests, but they wouldn't have participated. It seems they work from the shadows.

I told him about the message sent to the professor hidden in the Amazon links. Here's is last reply.

Tristan wrote:
That quotation of yours though, "The Seven Grandfathers of Ogashiinan Are The Mother's Hand By Oath, Help Us" sounds very much like the mandate they are known for by legend. The Seven Grandfathers of Ogashiinan are the hand of The Mother in the sense that they've taken an oath to protect her and the natural cycle from the trespasses of man. It sounds like they're asking the Professor for help in their task though--and the message was indeed intended for him yes?

That is quite an honor, wow, I hope it isn't some sort of joke. You've actually established the closest thing i've ever heard to a dialog with the 7 grandfathers. They're like ghosts, it's why most people don't often believe them to be more than folklore! But if they're actually communicating with your professor for help...there must be something serious grave happening--or about to happen.

I have another picture from Tristan, but can't upload it from my phone. I've asked the Dr. to post it to his blog.
I will post it up here when I get to a real computer...

ETA: here is the attachment and the message from Tristan:
Quote:
Hi there Shizzire,

Been super busy i'm really sorry, but I did manage to check out the exhibit quickly today on the way back to work around lunch.

I quickly checked out the first section of the exhibit which had a bunch of old photos framed and on display with some photo albums under glass. They know i'm press so they weren't really especially concerned about my taking a small number of courtesy snaps for the paper, but I did have to be careful about lifting up that glass. Thankfully it was a small hinged case. Caldron's photo was made fairly prominent in one of the albums so i quickly lifted it up and took an a close-up shot.

I've attached it.

I'll check in there over the week-end, maybe on Saturday.

I was able to tweak the photo enough to show there was writing across the face of the picture. I had to guess at a couple of the words, which are indicated by the question mark next to them...
eta* I've corrected the text to show the correct wording.

Quote:
You are trusted with this order to sew the salt of doubt and apathy, to guide us in the name of progress to great heights and to show the Mother her place beneath the heel of humankind where she belongs.

We speak these words Sal Salis Terra to ensure that the spirit of progress always sees his aim met without resistance.

Let them forget... and let us prosper.

I'm attaching a copy of the tweaked photo.

Sorry for the double post. I received this email from Tristan about 2 hours ago. To recap, he wanted us to know that he and Rebecca are friends, and that she is the one that's been supplying us with all the evidence. She's afraid Iron Clad suspects something because they've asked her to accompany Chad on his trip next week to Lake Simcoe. We need to find a way to help her.

Tristan wrote:
Hey Roxanne,

I sort of need to disclose something to you, and it's something you probably already know, but I think something might be wrong and to be honest, i have no one else i can trust with this right now except for yourself, the Professor and the others helping him.

You need to know that Rebecca Sanders and I know each other...personally. When Iron Clad started doing formal tours of the area a few months ago to start-up relations with the municipality and the council, I was the one covering those events. We started exchanging flirtatious banter at formal press events, which led to us chatting and we became sort of 'friendly' during her repeated visits here. It's not something that ever led anywhere--after all she has a husband and a child and I would have felt horrible--but we did enjoy each other's company in a way that might not have been 'appropriate'.

But without going into embarrassing details, my point is this--Rebecca Sanders is the one who has asked me to convey messages to you and the Professor through my articles and i think she needs your help now.

She's wanted Iron Clad to be accountable for so long for the crimes she feels they commit as a business and after what had been happening with the survey, she decided that she needed a way to get the word out to people without risking her job--she chose yourself and the Professor as the best candidate for an outlet of information.

So she's the one who got access to a scannable image of Chad Peterson to access his account, she's the one who scanned his boarding pass so that you could keep tabs on his whereabouts and she's the one of course who passed along that letter for you to read--a note she'd written to one of her in-office colleagues who she feels has been ratting her out.

And after talking with her last night, she's afraid they definitely suspect something.

She's been asked to help close the Lake Simcoe deal this coming week with Chad Peterson--a last minute decision. Something is surely up and I'm not sure what to do. Someone should know though and you deserve to. I just wish i knew what to do.

Ack, triple post.

Tristan just sent an email with a couple of scans attached. The scans are of the front and back of a photo he took from the museum.

Tristan wrote:
So i flipped through the album and after a number of pages I found the photo I've attached.

It was near the back of one of the photo albums, not on the display page in the case. There was no context provided, it was just a picture of a group of men and a distinctively younger Bonnabee stands at the front row, second from the right. I took the photo out to see if there was a date or a location. Instead I found the message you see here. :S

The message on the back of the photo is in a pigpen cipher.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Thanks Enaxor!

I think either you or Sandawicha already talked about salting the earth in the bible. but now we have a specific person to reference:

FYI:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abimelech

http://www.enduringword.com/commentaries/0709.htm
Quote:
So Abimelech fought against the city all that day; he took the city and killed the people who were in it; and he demolished the city and sowed it with salt.

Maybe Rebecca is going to drop a rock on Bonnabee's head:
Quote:
But a certain woman dropped an upper millstone on Abimelech's head and crushed his skull. Then he called quickly to the young man, his armorbearer, and said to him, "Draw your sword and kill me, lest men say of me, 'A woman killed him.' " So his young man thrust him through, and he died. And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, they departed, every man to his place.

ETA: I think we are missing a clue somewhere. Declan mentioned something weird about his reader's digest subscription and hinted "rot". I checked the meta data in that image, but couldn't find anything that could "rot-13". Anyone else see something we may have missed???

ETA2:
In the pic of Calron there are three "digest" references:
